Rite of the Bold is a new world quest added in Version 5.0 and is available immediately after completing the quests, Lost in the Woods, Tales of Dreams Plucked From Fire World, and Shadows of the Mountain.
If the Rite of the Bold is not appearing on the map after completing all the pre-requisite quests above, you may also need to complete the Pilgrimage of the Return of the Sacred Flame archon quest. Sometimes skipping two days using your in-game clock triggers the quest to start, as well!
Chapter 5: Act 1 Archon Quest Guide
The Rite of the Bold quest can be started by going to the Children of Echoes at Natlan. The quest marker will be located on the map once it's unlocked.
Go to the Children of Echoes and try to search for clues about the Volcanic token.
Talk to Manqu at the center of Children of Echoes, where you will also meet Pacal. They will tell you more information about the Volcanic token.
After the conversation, you will all be teleported to the duel arena.
Once in the duel arena, you need to defeat Pacal and his Saurian companion. Pacal will give you his blessing for your journey ahead with your Saurian companion afterwards.
Rite of the Bold is a subquest of the quest chain, Between Pledge and Forgettance, which can be started by finding any of the subquests under it.
