Quest: #1 Lost in the Woods |
Waiting For Seeds to Sprout is a new world quest added in Version 5.0 and is available immediately after unlocking the Natlan region.
Investigate the Holes East of the Ancient Watchtower
To start the quest, fast travel to the Ancient Watchtower domain and climb the hill behind it. You will find a barren ground with holes a few steps to the east.
Your Saurian companion will appear as you get close to the quest area, where he will start digging the holes. Lead him to the three holes nearby until he unearths a seed that will start the quest.

Plant the Seed With Your Saurian Buddy
The little Tepetlisaur will immediately look for a good spot to plant the seed. Wait for him to finish digging before interacting with the hole.
Infuse the Seed With Phlogiston
Next, you must infuse the seed with Phlogiston from your own reserve. If you're out of juice, look for an Everflame Seed, Flaming Seeds of Phlogiston, or other sources of Phlogiston before coming back for the seed.
Defeat the Attracted Monsters
A swarm of Phlogiston Aphids will suddenly appear and try to absorb the Phlogiston from the seed. Defeat them to regain Phlogiston that you can also use to re-infuse the seed with if necessary.
Another group of monsters consisting of Pyro Slimes and an Eroding Avatar of Earth will appear behind you. Protect the seed from this final wave to complete the quest!

Waiting For Seeds to Sprout is a subquest of the quest chain, In the Footsteps of the Chosen of Dragons, which can be started by finding any of the subquests under it. The subquests' marker will not appear on the map, making them difficult to track.

A New Hope Achievement
Return to the same spot where you planted the seed after the next server reset to find a patch of Embercore Flowers. You will obtain the A New Hope achievement after the cutscene that triggers after checking it out.
