A Free 5-Star selector where you can claim a Standard Character will be given to every player in each Anniversary Versions starting from Genshin Impact 5.0. Learn how to obtain the free character and the best standard 5-star character to choose in this guide!

To claim your free 5-star character, go to the Event Screen in-game to access the anniversary event. Click on Invite Character to start selecting your chosen unit.
Note that the game will prompt you again to confirm your choice.
It was confirmed in the 5.0 livestream that for every anniversary versions, players can choose one free 5-star character from the standard banner!
They also confirmed that more characters will be added in the Standard Banner in the future, which means the character pool for this selector may get bigger every year!
Travelers must first unlock the Wish system by completing Prologue: Act 1 - The Outlander Who Caught the Wind before they can choose a free Standard 5-Star Character during every anniversary version.

・Fast and quick DPS that is also easy to ascend and control. She can also use her Teleport to access cliffs or higher areas like in Liyue. ・Works better with a Dendro character like the Dendro Traveler, although you'll have to go to the Sumeru Region to unlock them first. |

 Diluc
|
・Strong DPS character for newer players. ・Can help with Pyro application for puzzles, or breaking ores with his Claymore. |

 Dehya
|
・Provides interruption resistance for the party and damage mitigation, but the party still takes damage. ・Serviceable damage but if you're looking for a Pyro character who can carry you with sheer DPS, Diluc is the better pick at C0. |

 Qiqi
|
・One of the highest healing potential but you may find the cooldowns a bit limiting especially if you need it in a pinch. ・In terms of healing and utility, Jean is the better pick for most situations. |

・When you have a proper Quicken team with a strong Electro like Yae Miko with Nahida and Zhongli, Tighnari is one of the game's best nuker that also scales well with more constellations. |

・Off-field Pyro Application and interruption resistance are welcome for many teams that don't require a healer, like Arlecchino teams. ・Takes more priority if you already have all of the standard characters, as she also scales well the more constellations you get like Tighnari. |

・Thrives better with Xianyun on Plunging Attacks, and can reach the height of the best 5-star DPS with this playstyle. Otherwise, other limited Pyro characters like Arlecchino trumps over him. |

・Great scaling with the best Dendro characters like Nahida, although if you already have someone like Clorinde or Alhaitham, they're the better picks for her supposed supports. |
