As a Support
Illuga functions as a specific and niche support for Lunar-Crystallize teams that either feature Zibai, Columbina, or both as center-piece members of the team. On this end, he performs his duty quite well, especially if you have him at C6 as his buffs become nothing short of significant if he is placed in these teams, and he can arguably considered the Lauma of Lunar-Crystallize.

However, that is where his niche and effectiveness ends, as the moment he is separated from his Lunar-Crystallize teams, he becomes a Geo buffer that performs a similar role to Gorou but with less potency. This doesn't mean he's unusable, but that his potential is locked out if his team is incapable of proccing Lunar-Crystallize.

All in all, Illuga is able to function as a prime buffer for Lunar-Crystallize teams and performs this role quite well, but his strength is also his weakness, as the niche Elemental Reaction that he supports is limited for the time being, though this may be subject to change in the future. Until then, he will be tethered to either Zibai or Columbina for the time being.

• Buffs and Enables Lunar-Crystallize DPS units through his niche but effective buffs. • Simple to build as only his Elemental Burst needs to be leveled, and only his Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge stats need to be raised. • Constellations heavily improve potency of his kit, with C2 allowing him to activate Silken Moon's Serenade's effects while Off-Field.
Weaknesses
• Restricted heavily to Lunar-Crystallize as a team, and to Zibai and Columbina as allies. • Requires Hydro or Geo teammates if not operating with his specific Nod-Krai allies. • Full potential is locked behind Constellations, most notably C2.

Illuga is a support that is designed to buff Lunar-Crystallize DMG through his Elemental Burst. His buffing capabilities primarily scale with Elemental Mastery, making him straightforward with what he wants in his builds.

Prioritize stacking Elementary Mastery to increase his potency as a buffer, and build him with Silken Moon’s Serenade to enhance his supportive capabilities even further.

For the most part, Illuga wants to have Elemental Mastery as much as possible to maximize his buffing capabilities.

Afterwards, focus on providing him the required Energy Recharge that will let him use his Elemental Burst off cooldown, as his DMG% buff is tied to it.

As a Moonsign support, it's natural that he'll gravitate towards Silken Moon's Serenade as his best-in-slot, alleviating his Energy Recharge needs while also enhancing Lunar-Reaction DMG to the team.

A pair of 2-pc Elemental Mastery set is a viable option for his buff’s scaling with Elemental Mastery. In a similar note, the Instructor set is an F2P option that increases the entire team’s Elemental Mastery.

Uses Energy Recharge or Elemental Mastery Polearms

Favonius Lance is generally his best-in-slot to alleviate, not just his Energy needs, but the entire team’s, and it's easily accessible. We highly recommend using Favonius Lance in most situations.

A good alternative for his weapon options is Dragon’s Bane for its Elemental Mastery stat, but the effect is redundant for the most part. Kitain Cross Spear for a similar reason and can give Energy for Illuga, albeit delayed.

Best With Lunar-Crystallized Teams

Illuga finds his best use to be with teams dedicated to Lunar-Crystallize to take advantage of his entire kit. It’s important to note that Illuga cannot trigger Lunar-Crystallize alone; he must be paired with a Moonsign character that has the ability to do so, particularly Zibai and Columbina.

Additionally, when he is in a Lunar-Crystallize team, he gains benefits from having units with Geo Constructs as that increases the amount of Elemental Burst stacks he receives, making Geo Construct characters welcome in his teams.

Columbina	Support Columbina allows the team to trigger Lunar-Crystallize, and Illuga fits right in to buff the said reaction. They both buff the same reaction and make a great duo for teams dedicated to Lunar-Crystallize.
Gorou	Support As a fellow Geo character, Illuga helps Gorou activate his General's War Banner buffs. These buffs can increase the team's DEF and Geo DMG. With C4, Gorou can also act as a healer, albeit less reliably.

The DMG dealt is based on 400% of Illuga's Elemental Mastery and 200% of his DEF. This DMG is considered Elemental Burst DMG.
C3	Earthshaking Maw Increases the Level of Elemental Burst Shadowless Reflection by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.

With Illuga's Constellations being more utility-based than damage-based, C2 is his most accessible and most sought-after Constellation, allowing him to trigger artifact effects via his Off-Field Elemental Skill.

His next stopping point would be C6 where his A1 Passive offers more CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG, directly contributing to the team's stats.

Illuga's main supportive rotation involves using their Elemental Burst, and using their Elemental Skill either before or after casting their Burst, depending on the Burst's availability.

Afterwards, they swap off of Illuga and onto their Main DPS.

Lunar Crystallize and Geo Buffer

Illuga functions as a Lunar-Crystallize and Geo Buffer, providing Element and Reaction-specific buffs via his Elemental Burst and passives.

In this case, he can serve as both a general Geo damage buffer, or a Lunar team damage buffer, with his kit catered towards general Geo DMG, but unlocking more if slotted into Lunar teams.

It is common to admire those who display wit and cunning, but to me, determination is a far more valuable quality.

Aino	About Aino Whenever the Lightkeepers need help fixing complex machinery, we tend to ask for Miss Aino's assistance. She really seems determined to teach us how to do it ourselves, though. Ever since she caught me trying to repair something on my own, she's been constantly insisting that I attend her classes... How exactly was I trying to fix it, you ask? Hah, well, if you must know, it was a trick I learned from my old pops. As he likes to put it, "if something's not working, just whack it a few times!" To my shock, that set her off something fierce...
Columbina	About the Moon Goddess Nod-Krai is an "elysium" built by human hands, a dream kept alive over the centuries by the blood and sacrifice of countless generations of Lightkeepers. There might be a new deity in town, but I don't think our way of life will suddenly change because of that. It's not that I doubt the Moon Goddess herself — far from it. I just believe that... rather than waiting for someone else to save us, we'd do better to rely on our own strength.
Flins	About Flins Drop-Ins: When I first met Mr. Flins, I assumed that the reason he lived alone was either because he didn't like being around people, or that he was just a little... eccentric. Turns out that the complete opposite is true — well, at least in terms of his social appetite. Only thing is, every time we talk, he always seems to end his stories on a cliffhanger... Sometimes, I wonder if that's his way of making sure I'll come back to hear the rest. Secrets: You're saying there's a lot more to Mr. Flins than meets the eye? Hah... Well, that's hardly unusual for a Ratnik. We're all from different walks of life, so who doesn't have a few things they'd rather keep to themselves? Even my old pops rarely talks about his past. As for Mr. Flins... well, I've certainly got to know him a lot better, and efter everything that's been going on lately, I've got a rough idea of what he might be hiding. I actually asked about it once, but he neither confirmed nor denied my suspicions. In a way, I guess that's an answer in itself.
Lauma	About Lauma Our friendship with the Frostmoon Scions goes all the way back to the days of the Torchforger himself. Truth is, though, even if it didn't, I'd still have nothing but admiration for the current Moonchanter. She's kind, gentle, and I end up learning something new every time I visit. In times like these, her job can't be any easier than ours — yet somehow, she always manages to stay so serene. I'd bet that she's been shouldering a lot more than she lets on.
Linnea	About Linnea Even in a place as diverse as Nod-Krai, Fae ladies like Miss Linnea are few and far between. I originally figured she'd be the quiet, graceful type, but it turns out that was WAY off. For instance, the first time she saw Aedon, she got so excited that she practically pounced on him. It spooked him so bad that now, the second he hears her voice, he bolts for my lamp. And remember, this is Aedon we're talking about here — a messenger bird who's usually so "unflappable" that he wouldn't flinch for anything, not even the Wild Hunt...
Nefer	About Nefer Our operations in Nasha Town have become way smoother in recent times, and it's mostly thanks to the Curatorium of Secrets. It sure wasn't like this before, I'll tell you that. Before Miss Nefer arrived on the scene, it was like we were locked in a constant battle with the town's gangs, and it used to worry my old pops sick. Things have improved immensely since then, though. That said, Miss Nefer seems to love teasing me just as much as Mr. Flins does... and I have to admit, that can be a bit of a headache sometimes.
Varka	About Varka I've fought side-by-side with Mr. Varka against the Wild Hunt, and I can tell you this — his fighting skills are up there with the best of them. I've heard that the Knights of Favonius were founded to defend their homeland, just like us Lightkeepers. I hope that someday, once we've finally driven the Wild Hunt from Nod-Krai, we'll be able to travel beyond these lands and fight for those living in hardship elsewhere as well.
