Support for Lunar-Crystallize

Illuga is a support that is designed to buff Lunar-Crystallize DMG through his Elemental Burst. His buffing capabilities primarily scale with Elemental Mastery, making him straightforward with what he wants in his builds.

Prioritize stacking Elementary Mastery to increase his potency as a buffer, and build him with Silken Moon’s Serenade to enhance his supportive capabilities even further.

For the most part, Illuga wants to have Elemental Mastery as much as possible to maximize his buffing capabilities.

Afterwards, focus on providing him the required Energy Recharge that will let him use his Elemental Burst off cooldown, as his DMG% buff is tied to it.

As a Moonsign support, it's natural that he'll gravitate towards Silken Moon's Serenade as his best-in-slot, alleviating his Energy Recharge needs while also enhancing Lunar-Reaction DMG to the team.

A pair of 2-pc Elemental Mastery set is a viable option for his buff’s scaling with Elemental Mastery. In a similar note, the Instructor set is an F2P option that increases the entire team’s Elemental Mastery.

Favonius Lance is generally his best-in-slot to alleviate, not just his Energy needs, but the entire team’s, and it's easily accessible.

A good alternative is Dragon’s Bane for its Elemental Mastery stat, but the effect is redundant for the most part. Kitain Cross Spear for a similar reason and can give Energy for Illuga, albeit delayed.

Best With Lunar-Crystallized Teams

Illuga finds his best use to be with teams dedicated to Lunar-Crystallize to take advantage of his entire kit. It’s important to note that Illuga cannot trigger Lunar-Crystallize alone; he must be paired with a Moonsign character that has the ability to do so, particularly Zibai and Columbina.

Illuga is the best support for Zibai, whose entire kit revolves around Lunar-Crystallize. She easily stacks Nightingale's Song because of her Elemental Skill and Normal Attacks, which in turn increase her overall damage.
Genshin - Columbina Columbina Support
Columbina allows the team to trigger Lunar-Crystallize, and Illuga fits right in to buff the said reaction. They both buff the same reaction and make a great duo for teams dedicated to Lunar-Crystallize.
Genshin - Gorou Gorou Support
As a fellow Geo character, Illuga helps Gorou activate his General's War Banner buffs. These buffs can increase the team's DEF and Geo DMG. With C4, Gorou can also act as a healer, albeit less reliably.

Illuga Talents and How to Use

Lunar Crystallize and Geo Buffer

Illuga functions as a Lunar-Crystallize and Geo Buffer, providing Element and Reaction-specific buffs via his Elemental Burst and passives.

In this case, he can serve as both a general Geo damage buffer, or a Lunar team damage buffer, with his kit catered towards general Geo DMG, but unlocking more if slotted into Lunar teams.

Illuga's Elemental Burst illuminates the area around the active character, increasing the Geo and Lunar-Crystallize DMG dealt by this character based on Illuga's Elemental Mastery.

This is Illuga's main way of providing support to his team.

Buffs Geo CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG

Apart from his Elemental Burst, Illuga's Lightkeeper's Oath passive lets him buff the party's Geo CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG, and even increases the team's Elemental Mastery if Ascendant Gleam is activated.
