How to Unlock Beneath the Secret Source
Complete Chapter 5: Act 3 Quest
Unlock Beneath the Secret Source by completing The Flickering Light Splits in Twain, which is the last sub-quest in the Chapter 5 Act 3 Archon Quest - Beyond the Smoke and Mirrors.
Beneath the Secret Source Walkthrough
Tell Mavuika About The Captain's Intentions
Enter the Speaker's Chamber on the south side of the Stadium and talk to Mavuika.
Head to the Entrance of the “Remnants of the Secret Source”
After the cutscene, teleport to the Waypoint south of Teticpac Peak and go over the plan of attack with Mavuika and the others.
Defeat the Fatui on Patrol Nearby
Use the Yumkasaur ability to get across the cliff and past the trees until you come across a pair of Fatui Skirmishers. Defeat the Skirmishers to proceed.
Enter the “Remnants of the Secret Source”
After a short cutscene, you'll be able to enter the domain “Remnants of the Secret Source.” As there will be more enemies inside, remember to bring strong party members with you.
Proceed Deeper Into the “Remnants of the Secret Source”
Turn Left to Avoid the Fatui Soldiers
Keep following the path forward. Defeat the Small Geo Slimes and collect the chest along the way. Eventually you will come across a ledge, with some Fatui soldiers down below. Turn left to avoid them and go further into the domain.
Defeat the Fatui Guarding the Door
Near the end of the path will be a group of Fatui Skirmishers and a Fatui Pyro Agent guarding a chest and a giant, circular door. Defeat the Fatui to get the chest.
Approach the Device
After defeating the Fatui, approach the device wrapped in purple energy to trigger a cutscene and open the door!
Rotate the Device to Complete the Image and Open A Path
In the next room will be three other similar devices; one at the top of the stairs, another on a higher ledge with a Coilgrass Sigil, and another on a lower ledge to the left guarded by a Secret Source Automaton.
Rotate Each Part to Form A Dragon Head Image
Rotate these devices until the image on the large stone structure on the wall matches the Hint that will appear on the device after some time. When the part glows gold, that means you got the correct position.
Stop The Captain and Ororon
Completing the image will open a door on the ledge to the left, quickly head inside and go towards Capitano and Ororon to enter the next cutscene.
Speak with the Lord of the Night
Once the conversation is over, you will be left in the cavern with Yohualtecuhtin, Lord of the Night. This objective is optional, but you can talk to the Lord of the Night and ask them questions.
Depart the “Remnants of the Secret Source”
Head back the way you came and leave the domain to get the Before Dawn Breaks achievement and complete this sub-quest.
