Shuyu's Baffling Beetle Battle Bowl Stages and Dates

Shuyu's Beetle Battle Stage 1

Opponent	Staff Master Who Only Uses Basic Horizontal Sweeps
Weakness	Mask and Head
Attack Patterns	Throws a rock to the ground from a short distance. Slams staff down on the ground. Swings staff in a horizontal sweep.

Stay on the Move to Avoid Hilichurl Attacks

In the first stage, the enemy is a simple Hilichurl Fighter with three kinds of attacks. Look out for red markers on the ground to avoid the ground attacks, and keep a certain distance to avoid the horizontal attack!

You can also interrupt the opponent's attack with your own! Fly up and aim for the head to deal the most damage.

Shuyu's Beetle Battle Stage 2

Opponent	Staff Master Who Waves a Flaming Torch About Non-Stop
Weakness	Mask and Head, When carrying Pyro Slime
Attack Patterns	Throws a flaming rock to the ground from a short distance. Prepares and throws a Small Pyro Slime to the ground. Swings blazing staff in a horizontal sweep.

Interrupt the Hilichurl's Attacks

This Hilichurl opponent has slow attacks, making it easier to interrupt or avoid their movements. You must also watch out for their Pyro Slime attack, during which you can fly up and deal more damage by hitting the slime before they throw it.

Shuyu's Beetle Battle Stage 3

Opponent	Mumbly-Bumbly Red-Hot Mage
Weakness	When casting a Fireball
Attack Patterns	Sends a wave of flames in a straight line on the ground. Summons a pillar of flames from the ground. Casts a Fireball.

Interrupt their Fireball Attack to Destroy Shield

The Pyro Abyss Mage in the third challenge has a shield that you need to destroy to deal more damage. When the Abyss Mage starts creating a Pyro orb, fly into the air and attack the orb to destroy their shield!

Once the shield is popped, the Pyro Abyss Mage will fall to the floor and be more vulnerable to attacks.

Shuyu's Beetle Battle Stage 4

Opponent	Bouncy, Energetic Mage Who's Actually Freezing Cold
Weakness	When casting a Cryo Spell
Attack Patterns	Sends a giant icicle towards your beetle on ground level. Drops a large icicle on a spot on the ground. Sends a giant icicle towards your beetle in mid-air.

Beware the Icicle Attacks

In the fourth challenge, you will be up against a Cryo Abyss Mage. This enemy has the same mechanics as the Pyro Abyss Mage, so you must destroy their shield by attacking the Cryo orb as they're forming it.

Shuyu's Beetle Battle Stage 5

Opponent	Big Guy Said to Be Solid as a Mini Mountain
Weakness	Mask, Geo Slime
Attack Patterns	Slams the ground and sends a pillar of stone upwards. Swings arm in a horizontal sweep. Hurls a geo slime in a continuous AoE attack.

Interrupt the Opponent's Attack As Much As Possible

The Stonehide Lawachurl's attacks can deal damage more than once, so it's important to keep it from attacking. You must fly and aim for the mask to make the Stonehide Lawachurl stumble.

Once it places down a Geo Slime, quickly make sure you're not too far, and attack with a Piercing Strike to blow up the Geo Slime, as the Lawachurl can deal a lot of damage when it gets to throw the slime.

How to Play Shuyu's Baffling Beetle Battle Bowl

Choose A Stage Difficulty

Each stage in Shuyu's Baffling Beetle Battle Bowl has three difficulties you can choose from; Friendly Spar, Focused Fight, and Utmost Might. You must first beat Focused Fight to unlock Utmost Might.

Control the Mechanical Onikabuto to Defeat Opponents

Help Shuyu and Grandmaster Hanakado control the mechanical Onikabuto, Bloom Pruner, and defeat various monster constructs within the teapot!

Aim for the Opponent's Weakness

Every enemy has a weak spot, and hitting their weaknesses deal more damage! Pay attention at the start of the round to find where the enemy's weakness is.

Hold the Forward Button to Charge Your Attack

Similar to the previous Beetle Battle events, you can move your beetle forward or backward, and you hold the forward button to charge up your attack.

Hold the Up Button to Fly

The Mechanical beetle can now fly up into the air by holding the up button! The longer you hold down the button, the higher your beetle will go. Hold the up button until the beetle is at the right height and quickly follow in holding the forward button to attack in mid-air!
