Solo Random Battles Explained

Random Battles are a new Solo Battle mode added in Pokemon TCG Pocket on January 29th, 2026. Engage in Random Battles where your opponent's deck will be a surprise until the battle begins!

What are Solo Random Battles?

Random Battle (Beginner)

Solo Random Battles is a new game mode where players face off against CPU opponents with randomly generated decks. These work similarly to the Step-Up Battles, but without the advantage of knowing your opponent's deck beforehand, simulating less stressful online ranked battles.

Random Battles also have varying levels of difficulty similar to Step-Up Battles.

Accumulate Points for Bonus Rewards

Unlike the Step-Up Battles, where players get additional rewards through deck-related or battle-specific Battle Tasks, bonus rewards from Random Battles are gained by accumulating points across multiple matches.

The required number of points for each reward increases with the battle difficulty, with the Expert difficulty unlocking its final reward after getting a total of 50 points from Expert Random Battles.
