How To Play Treasure Hunt Game

Dig Holes to Get Rewards

Choose a spot and start digging to find various items like: Cabbages, Carrots, and even Iron Chunks. You might even dig up the Grand Prize if you're lucky, but be careful, there are also some mines buried that you might dig up!

Limited Number of Attempts Every Day

You can keep challenging Old Chou's Treasure Hunt game, but there is a limited number of attempts you can do everyday. When you run out of attempts, you will have to wait until the next day (server reset), before you can try again.

Digging Up Mines Ends the Attempt

During your attempt you can dig as many times as you want, but when you find even one mine your attempt will end immediately. Do your best to avoid the mines by using the dug up items as clues.

Don't Attack the Mines!

Although the mines are duds and won't explode upon digging them up. They can still explode when attacked, so be careful not to hit them!

Find the Treasure Chest Grand Prize

When you learn how to use the items as clues (or if you get lucky!), you will be rewarded with a Treasure Chest as the Grand Prize.

The first time will reward you with a Common Chest, then an Exquisite Chest when you win the next time, and a Precious Chest when you win on your third time!

Treasure Hunt Tips & Strategies

Don't pick up the items you dig up

Don't immediately pick up the items that appear when you dig, instead use those as markers and hints for where you should dig next.

Better Items = More Bombs

Cabbage Carrot	1 Mine
Iron Chunk	2 Mines
Treasure Chest	4 Mines

The better the items you dig up, the more mines can be found directly adjacent to it. with the Grand Prize surrounded by mines on all 4 sides.

Use process of elimination to determine where it's safe to dig and where the mines could be.

How to Unlock Treasure Hunt Game

Talk to Old Chou at Cinnabar Cliff

You can find Old Chou just south of Cinnabar Cliff in front of a shack. You can teleport to the Statue of the Seven in the Chasm and glide south to get to him.

Talking to him will give you an option to play his Treasure Hunt game.

Complete A Cliff-Side Hero's Past

Going through the A Cliff-Side Hero's Past quest will also put you in the direction of Old Chou, with one of the objectives having you track him down and talk to him. He'll give you a chance to play a modified version of the Treasure Hunt game, where digging up a mine won't end your attempt.

When you complete the quest, Tang Wuchou will give you a hint on how to win Old Chou's Treasure Hunt game.
