Perils in the Dark is the fifth quest under the The Chasm Delvers quest chain in the Chasm for Genshin Impact 2.6. See how to unlock the World Quest, how to defeat the Abyss Lectors, all the bell locations, and its walkthrough in this guide!
How to Unlock Perils in the Dark
Complete the Heavenly Stone's Debris
To unlock Perils in the Dark, you must first complete the Heavenly Stone's Debris. Once done, proceed to the quest marker by dropping down the pit to the deeper ruins.

Drop Down Deeper to the Nameless Ruins
After completing The Heavenly Stones' Debris, a big hole in the middle of the area will open. Before jumping down, make sure to get the Lumenstone Ore at the entrance!
You can also get a couple of Lumenspars on your way down.

After dropping down, approach the dark purplish dome in the middle of the area. You should see an Oozing Concretion bulb. Use your Lumenstone Adjuvant on it to uncover the Fatuus' Journal.
Reading the Fatuus' Journal will also lighten up the area, revealing the map for the Nameless Ruins.
Bell Puzzles in Perils in the Dark
Bell Locations in The Chasm
In the Perils in the Dark quest, you have to ring the bells found on the North ruins by the river, and the South ruins below Stony Halls. Make sure to have your gadget equipped to complete the puzzles in both locations!
North Monuments Puzzle
The puzzle in the north ruins is found nearby a river after passing a Teleport Waypoint. Climb up the ruins, and you should see multiple monuments covered in Dark Mud, with a Pyro Abyss Mage guarding it. Here's how to solve this monument puzzle:
- Defeat the Pyro Abyss Mage.
- Press Recharge on the vine.
- Clear the rocks by using the vine or the gadget.
- Defeat the Shadowy Husks.
- Hit the bell.
South Seelie Puzzle
The seelie puzzle in the south ruins is located high above the ravine. You can follow the ledge on your left upon entering this area from Stony Halls. Complete the seelie puzzle by doing the following:
- Press Recharge on the monument south.
- Use the gadget to the oozing bulb on the west.
- Spread out the two Luminous Seelies east and west.
- Stand beside the north cross.
- Open the chest and ride the air current.
- Stand on the opposite cross.
- Operate the mechanism to open the gate.
- Defeat the Ruin Grader.
- Clear out the mud.
- Hit the bell.

Defeat Agnarr and Egill
Fight Against the Abyss Lectors
After returning to the Nameless Ruins and watching a short cutscene, Agnarr and Egill, a Electro Abyss Lector and a Pyro Abyss Lector, will appear. Defeat them both.
Bring Cryo, Anemo, or Hydro Characters

To defeat the Abyss Lectors, make sure to use Cryo and Hydro abilities as they are strong against the Lector shields! You can also slot in an Anemo character who can swirl both Electro and Pyro to shred the opposite shields.
Pick up the Curious Cube
After defeating both Lectors, press Investigate on the object they dropped behind to get the Curious Cube. Doing this will complete the quest!

Anonymous over 1 yearWhy does this have to be so difficult, it’s insane repeatedly trying only to fail, I leveled up my characters in the hopes of moving forward in the game but I just can’t do it. Anyone have any tricks or suggestions?
