Activate and Solve the Symbol Puzzle

You can get the In the Light, Beneath the Shadow book by completing the Phase Symbol puzzle located in The Serpent's Heart in Enkanomiya. You will also need to activate the sigils first in Dainichi Mikoshi to access the puzzle.

Note that the puzzle solution here is different from the Heart of Ouroboros symbols in the middle of the area, or any other symbol puzzles in Enkanomiya.

How to Activate the Puzzle in Dainichi Mikoshi

Hidden Room Location

Activating the Hint is A Must

You will have to get the symbol puzzle solution from a hint inside a hidden room in Dainichi Mikoshi. After activating this, you can then pass the Phase Gates on The Serpent's Heart in that order.

Note that this is a necessary step and you won't get the book if you haven't done this.

Blow Up the Wall

Blow up the wall on Dainichi Mikoshi with the two barrels of explosives sitting beside a Ruin Guard. This will open a secret room with a short-puzzle inside it.

How to Solve the Puzzle

To solve the puzzle inside the wall, you will need to manipulate the Day-Night mechanisms to open both the moving wall and the metal gate.

Move the Wall to Enter the Hidden Room

Your goal here is to move the wall with the blue stone underneath to open the hidden room. The gate will also be blocking the location, so you will have to change the time to access this!

Turn to Evernight (Night) to Activate the Hint

After the room's been opened up, you will find a chest with marks of sigils on the wall. You will need to climb and activate this afterwards.

Note that you can only activate this in Evernight mode!

Sigil Puzzle Hint Revealed

The sigils will light up after activating, revealing the order of the Phase Gates you need to enter in The Serpent's Heart!

You can only get the book by activating this, so remember to do this first!

After activating the Sigils in Dainichi Mikoshi, go to the Sigil Phase Gates location on The Serpent's Heart. You can also teleport directly beside it if you've already unlocked the waypoint!

Note that doing this first won't trigger the chest. If you haven't done it, activate the sigil hint first!

You'll know if you're successful if a cutscene plays, and the chest containing the book spawns!
