You can do it two times. Its two different sequence.

I couldn't get this chest until I started the Lotus Eater quest. I'd suggest doing the pattern for that quest first if you can't get this chest to show up.

For those who did the puzzle before taking the hint : The puzzle solution hinted is different from the one you probably did so memorise the order on the wall and resolve the puzzle at Serpent's heart, another common chest with the book in it will appear

Use the given hint, it's okay if you have solved the puzzle first, they got different codes. Use the hint, not the one inside the puzzle itself.

As far as I know there’s three different gate codes that are separate for each user. 1. Ground Code 2. Secret Room Code 3. Luxurious Chest Random Code (defeat 3 ruin guards). They all should work separately but my current problem is separate codes 1 and 3 have worked for me but this 2, secret room code, is not working for me.

If I did the gate puzzle earlier without knowing what it was does that mean I can never obtain the book? I'm very confused.

The order is different from the order on serpent’s heart, u need to use the order from the secret room’s wall which is different from the serpent’s heart’s floor order.
