What are the Strange Symbols?
Signs of Buried Treasure
Strange and weird symbols resembling an oni mask are scattered on walls around Watatsumi Island. They are actually marks of buried treasure by the great pirate Rinzou.
These areas will be interactable upon reading the Treasure Hoarder's Notes in a cave in Watatsumi Island.
Read the Treasure Hoarder's Notes to Unlock Digging Spots
A Treasure Hoarder's Notes inside a cave south of Watatsumi Island will tell you about the legendary pirate, Rinzou, who buried treasure all over Watatsumi Island.
Reading this note will unlock digging spots around these strange marks. Some spots will give you treasure, and some will give you none!
Treasure Hoarder's Note Cave Location
Head to the beach south of Bourou Village by teleporting to the Waypoint nearest to it, then go southwest. The cave will be in a crevass overlooking the ocean. Inside the cave, you will find the Treasure Hoarder's Notes.
Learn from Komaki's Daily Fortune
While not necessary, Day 2 of Komaki's Daily Fortune Telling will lead you to Rinzou's secret cave. Note that the Treasure Hoarder's Notes will not be interactable again if you have already done the treasure hunt.
Unlock by Completing Divine Plant of the Depths
You can only ask Komaki for a fortune after you've completed the Divine Plant of the Depths World Quest.
