Collect from Unagi Eels

Genshin - Adorned Unagi Red Finned Unagi

Unagi are slender, amphibious eels that can be caught to obtain Unagi Meat. These are usually found in the wild in shallows or sandbanks warming itself!

There are two types of Unagi: the bluish Adorned Unagi, and the Red Finned Unagi.

Deep Sea Unagi in Version 2.4

Genshin - Deep Sea Unagi
In Version 2.4, a new type of Unagi that only appears in the deep sea will be available in the new region, Enkanomiya. It's darker in color than other types of Unagi so it's less visible in a dim area!

Burrows When Close

Genshin - Unagi in the Wild
Unagis will try to burrow when you approach them, similar to Crystalflies flying away. Try to be as fast as possible when getting them.

Use Sayu's Passive

Genshin - Sayu IconSayu

Sayu's Passive, Yoohoo Art: Silencer's Secret, allows her to sneak up on Unagis. They will not burrow when Sayu is in the party, so she is perfect for Unagi Meat hunting!

Unagi Meat are often found on the coasts of Inazuma. They are most often found on sand beaches and will shy away when you try to approach them.

Note that Unagi Meat cannot be found in Kannazuka and Seirai Island.

Unagis are most abundant in Watatsumi Island, and it is recommended to farm Unagi Meat there. Note that because of the location of these Unagis, you may need to teleport to a Waypoint or by riding a Waverider for you to travel around the island.

According to the Version 2.6 Update Notice, Unagi Meat will be purchasable in a shop in Ritou once you've completed the second Raiden Shogun Story Quest, Impeatrix Umbrosa: Act 2. We'll update this section with the full details once Version 2.6 is released.

Since they never bothered to update this: The shop in Ritou where you can buy eel meat is Yamashiro Kenta’s shop. Go up the stairs from the harbour and it’s the first shop on your right. Sells 10 eel meat, 5 sango pearls and a green lucky dog Artifact set.

there are several spots in E (watatsumi underground), several of which are very convenient right by the teleporter
