Phase 1 Requires Nightsoul Bursts
Triggering the Nightsoul Burst is more important than dealing damage for Phase 1, and you can use Natlan Characters even if they're not fully leveled or built, and put your damage dealers in Phase 2 instead!
Phase 2 Buffs Favor Nightsoul Bursts
The buffs you obtain from Phase 1 favor Nightsoul Bursts, and Mavuika in particular, so constructing teams with her as the Main DPS and other Natlan Characters for support is recommended.

Showdown Apex Adversary First Half Strategy
Use Normal Attacks with Mualani At Every 10th Second Mark with 3 Natlan Characters
With 3 Natlan characters, the cooldown for triggering Nightsoul Burst in Phase 1 goes down to 9 seconds by simply auto-attacking with Mualani.
You only need to trigger Nightsoul Burst to accumulate the gauge, so defeating enemies aren't needed in Phase 1.
Showdown Apex Adversary Second Half Strategy
Destroy Phlogiston Pillars with Mavuika
For Phase 2, when the boss creates the Phlogiston Pillars, climb or jump up the rock with characters like Xilonen or Mavuika, then destroy the mechanism on top of it to paralyze the boss.
Deal Damage When the Boss is Stunned
When the mechanisms are broken, the boss will be stunned for about 15 - 20 seconds. Deal as much damage as possible during this time to deplete the boss' HP!
Use Mavuika as On-Field DPS
Mavuika typically needs another Natlan character in the team, particularly units like Xilonen and Citlali who can support an on-field DPS Mavuika. Use Overloaded or Melt reaction teams to help Mavuika deal more damage!
