Once the Spinning Sand Tanuki launches a Red Power Shot Harpastum, remember to charge up first before you hit them, so you can deal a lot more damage.

Wait for the Lob Shots to Come Near the Ground

When the Tanuki launches the Lob Shots in the air, look for the round marker on the ground to know where it's going to land. Once the Lob Shot is near the ground, hit it right back to the Tanuki.

Curve Ball Will Pass Through the Middle of the Stage

When a Curve Ball is launched, its trajectory will make it pass through the middle of the stage every time. So, you can position yourself in the middle of the stage, wait for the curve ball to come, and hit it right back at the Tanuki.

Look Out for the Lob Shots

There will also be a few Lob Shots that it will launch, so look out, and remember to wait for the them to come near the marker on the ground before hitting them back.

Remember How to Hit All the Types of Harpastum

The Power Shot needs a Charge Return to hit it. For Lob Shots, you have to wait for them to reach the marker on the ground before hitting them.

Curve Balls will always go through the middle of the arena, so you can wait for them in the middle to hit them. Then, Stock Balls are always fairly easy to hit back.

Use Charged Return for Roly-Poly Overlords

You need to use Charged Return for Roly-Poly Overlords to hit them back to the Tanuki. Similar to Lob Shot, you need to wait for Roly-Poly Overlord to come near the marker on the ground before hitting them back.

However, if a Roly-Poly Overlord isn't successfully returned to the Tanuki, it will create a small puddle of mud on the floor which can slow you down. Luckily, the puddle of mud will only be there after a short time.

How to Play Akitsu Harpastum: Dreams Doubled

Return the Harpasta

Defeat the Harpastum Youkai by returning all the harpasta it sends your way. Failure to return a harpasta lowers your Vitality.

Continuously dealing DMG to the Harpastum Youkai will cause you to enter Harpastum Fever, allowing you to do greater AoE damage!

Watch out for the Special Harpasta

There will also be special harpasta with varying flight trajectories; keep an eye on their landing positions and return them using the appropriate strike methods.

Dodge the Bullet Barrages

The Harpastum Youkai can also launch bullet barrages; when this happens, pay attention to them and look for openings to avoid being hit.

Play with Other Travelers in Co-op

Co-op mode allows you to play with other Travelers. Help one another and send back all harpasta to quickly defeat the Harpastum Youkai!

List of Harpastum Types

Harpastum Type	Description
Stock Ball	Just an ordinary harpastum that can fly in a straight line.
Power Shot	A harapastum fired with great force. A Charged Return is required to send this one packing.
Power Shot	A harapastum shot in a steep parabolic arc. Its landing point is predictable (and will become more obvious as it approaches said landing point), but you must a Return as it is falling.
Curve Ball	A harapastum fired along a specific trajectory. Predict its path to catch it!
Roly-Poly Overlords	The mightiest harpastum around! A harpastum shot in steep parabolic arc. Its landing point is predictable (and will become more obvious as it approaches said landing point), but you must use a Charged Return on it as it is falling. Additionally, an unreturned Roly-Poly Overlord will deploy a slowing field when it hits the ground.
