I actually have a pretty good f2p sub-dps build for her, making almost as much damage as skirk (i think). I believe R5 Widsith would be better than sacrificial offering for her since it either bossts her atk by 120% (for shield), al her elemental damage by 96% or her EM by 480 (for strong swirl reactions that SHRED). Until i get a second R5 widsith i will keep her the way she is.

Her BiS for on-field driver is Sunny Morning Sleep-in since it gives her a fuckton of EM, allowing her to utilize the A4 passive more efficiently. 309% and 774% are bonkers
Memory of dust as her best weapon...Is the owner of this page on drugs? It only gives shield strength to the equipping character, not the party. She's not an on field dps, the weapon is only good as a stat stick. Her best weapon is obviously starcaller's watch.

What is her rank as onfield DPS? Is she better than Mizuke and Sucrose?
For anyone who wants to use her as a DPS, you'll need to maximize Elemental Mastery while giving her Crit substats. This essentially means you'll have to ignore her ATK scaling shield! Early Morning Sleep-in weapon can give her the highest personal EM
Not putting Lyney mono pyro team while it's her best team is criminal

Interesting that Arlechinno vaporize team don't have any hydro teammate.

she can though tenacity HP increase wont work on her only the shield and elemental mastery buff, depending on what you are looking to buff in your team she can work
she is really easy to build as a shielder and 2.5 seconds cool down is not that bad, she keeps buffing with VV she is S rank she is even easier to build than gaming and in C6 she have dual shield keeping VV all time with neuvilette she is the perfect combo
Can she Work with the Tenacity artifact set? I'm thinking 4pc Tenacity + Thrilling Tales as a Faruzan substitute for Wanderer
At c6, shes S rank though. she can have 100% uptime on her shield and she can theoretically keep up the vv shred with 100% uptime too. Note that zhongli was given ss rank just for 20% shred and great shield. So, em buff + shield + 40% shred should atleast make her s rank.

4) Character who has the best synergy with her IMO is Arle, an attk scaler who cannot be heal, so she can use all of Lan Yan supports; Shield VV TTDS. I compared her dmg buff with Zhongli's. LY has more dmg but the difference is not significant, especially if your rotation is more than 1. So choosing between her and Zhongli depends on whether u prefer a bit more comfort or a bit more dmg I think she is a very good 4* but below Benny, XQ, XL, Sucrose, Chev, Fischl, Kuki, Ororon, Gaming
3) For hp scaler like C0 Neuv, TTDS is useless so she better off using Attk% weapon or Fav which is not bad but it doesn't really help that much. But still, I think she will be Neuv's best f2p character. *Most* attk scalers on the other hand uses Bennett, who is a healer. Healers are generally better than shielders, and his heal is more than enough to sustain the entire team that Lan Yan's shield feels unnecessary. In those teams, Sucrose would perform a lot better than her.
2) Her shield strength is very OP on paper but it's hard to utilise in the abyss. Not having a 100% uptime is kinda bad but not that bad bcuz she's an anemo VV unit. For a lot of the time, her shield absorption passive might have more negative impact than positive bcuz of elemental reactions between your team DPS' element and the enemies' attacks' elements. What makes her really good on paper is that she has Shield + VV + TTDS but I find it hard to utilise all three of them for most cases
Giving an honest opinion on my C3 talent 1/8/8 Lan Yan. She is a very strong 4* unit but I was expecting more from her bcuz a lot of content creators have talked about how good she is.
