Most of your teams for the Trial of Thorns will be based around Anemo units and the Swirl reaction against the multiple elemental opponents in this trial.
You can opt to use the trial Kazuha and Heizou, or you can use an entirely different Anemo-centric team, so long as they can reliably trigger Swirls.
Break the Abyss Mage's Elemental Shield
Before starting the fight, it is advised to use all off-field Elemental Bursts, then switch to your on-field character to start, as this will more than likely break the first three Abyss Mage's elemental shields within the first three seconds.
Afterwards, it becomes a matter of keeping all enemies grouped up and maintaining a consistent swirl, and all enemies with elemental shields and infusions should fall easily.

Defeat as Many Opponents as Possible
As with previous Canticle of Crowns, the goal here is to gain points by defeating opponents, with 5,000 points needed for Gold and 12,500 needed for Platinum.
Before starting the challenge, consider using your off-field Elemental Bursts in order to save time and start the challenge with your Main DPS already in their damage window.
Trigger Vaporize or Melt Often
Due to the incentives given to the Vaporize and Melt reactions, make sure to trigger them as often as possible, as this can make or break your clear time for the event.
With that said, use teams that have great off-field application for one element, and an on-field DPS that can consistently trigger these reactions.
No Need for Anemo Groupers
With the full buffs from the Trial of Thorns, consistently triggering Vaporize means you can keep enemies grouped up using the vortex that spawns at your location, thus eliminating the need for dedicated groupers.
Use this knowledge to slot in another Sub-DPS or damage-increasing support to your roster in order to push the damage ceiling higher.

 After a character triggers Vaporize or Melt on an opponent, all party members have their DEF increased by 15% for 8s. Max 3 stacks.  Characters' DMG dealt through Vaporize and Melt is increased by 50%.  After triggering Vaporize or Melt on opponents 5 times, a Vortex will be generated at the character's position that will continuously pull nearby opponents in. This effect can be triggered at most once every 12s. When Vortex is enhanced: 1 Vortex can be generated every 6s. |
