You can get the Ruin Machine Core in Chenyu Vale by defeating the Ruin Machine enemies located northwest of Qiaoying Village. The Ruin Machine Core should show up after defeating the enemies, along with an Exquisite Chest.

How to Use the Ruin Machine Core
On the Ruin Guard Blocking a Cave
You can use the Ruin Machine Core on the broken Ruin Guard blocking the cave nearby your curreny location. The cave is located specifically south from where you defeated the Ruin Machines previously.
A fight against the Ruin Guard will ensue after activating it using the core, so make sure to bring your best team with you!
Ruin Guard: Locations and Item Drops
Defeat the Treasure Hoarders and Loot the Chests
Head deeper into the cave and fight off several Treasure Hoarders, including an elite one named The Mount Kang. Open all the chests and free the Strange Merchant nearby after defeating them!
The Strange Merchant won't give you anything and will only talk about strange things before leaving.

Non-Hidden Backup Energy Source Achievement
Defeating the Ruin Guard and opening the cave will get you the Non-Hidden Backup Energy Source achievement. It also comes with 5 Primogems once you claim it!
