Defeat the Leader of the Miasma

To solve the Strange Phenomenon: Miasma puzzles, the first thing to do is defeat the leader of the monsters, before you can expose the source of the Miasma. All enemy leaders are marked by a glowing blue orb, so make sure to prioritize them!

Purify the Exposed Miasma Source

Once the leader is defeated, an on-screen text will appear indicating that the source of the Miasma has been exposed. Simply use your Adeptal Energy to the wilted branch to purify it!

Each Miasma challenge has a total of three wilted branches that spawn, which means you have to purify the source of the Miasma three times per challenge. The last enemy horde is always an Elite enemy, so make sure to bring your strongest characters with you!

All Miasma Locations in Chenyu Vale

There are a total of 7 Miasma in Chenyu Vale, 4 of which are overworld ones available as soon as you unlock the region, while the remaining three are locked behind the Chenyu's Blessings of Sunken Jade quest chain!

Miasma #1 Location

Challenge Leader:	Frostarm Lawachurl

Miasma #1 is located west of Mt. Xuanlian, right in the middle of a lake. If you've unlocked the Waypoint near the mountaintop Pavilion, then you can easily glide down from there.

Otherwise, the easiest way to reach this location is thru the Waypoint south of Chizhang Wall! This Miasma is also a unique one, as it spawns a Luxurious Chest instead of a Precious Chest!

Miasma #2 Location

Challenge Leader:	Xuanwen Beast

Miasma #2 is located west of the Statue of Seven in Chizhang Wall! Once you've teleported on the Statue, simply jump off the cliff in front of you, and the glide down until you see the Miasma.

Miasma #3 Location

Challenge Leader:	Stonehide Lawachurl

Miasma #3 is located a couple of steps away from the Southern Mountain Waypoint, placed in between Yaodie Valley, and Chizhang Wall!

Miasma #4 Location

Challenge Leader:	Geovishap

You can find Miasma #4 in the same place as the Forgotten Key (II), southeast of Mt. Lingmeng, just past the training grounds of the Guhua Clan. After completing Shrouded Vale, Hidden Hero, the arena should be occupied by a Stonehide Lawachurl!

Miasma #5, #6, and #7

Miasma #5, #6, and #7 are all unlockable during the An Ancient Sacrifice of Sacred Brocade, so as soon as you progress thru the quest, you should be able to cheese through all three of them, no problem!

Strange Phenomenon: Miasma Rewards

Chests and Monster Drops

All Miasma Challenges drop a single Precious Chest, except the Mt. Xuanlian Miasma as it spawns a Luxurious Chest instead. This means you can get a total of 70 Primogems plus other goodies, by completing all seven!

Moreover, each Miasma spawns monsters until the source is cleansed, which means you can loot monster drops indefinitely!

Break the Benighting Achievement

You can also get the Hidden Achievement, Break the Benighting after cleansing all seven Miasma locations!
