Genshin - Contaminated Bacterial Mats

Contaminated Bacterial Mats are contaminated cores that can be discovered on the surface and underwater of Fontaine's new region.

These contaminated cores are usually found around Harmonius Reed Pipe and Dew Branches, as well as one of the puzzles encountered while playing through the The Wild Fairy of Erinnyes world quest.

How to Remove Contaminated Bacterial Mats

Use the Xenochromatic Fontemer Aberrants Ability

Genshin - Use the Xenochromatic Ball Octopus Ability

Contaminated Bacterial Mats can only be eradicated using the Xenochromatic Fontemer Aberrants ability. Simply aim at the cores and attack them until they are destroyed.

On the surface, you can obtain the ability by using the Xenochromatic Ball Octopus machines. They are generally seen near an area contaminated with bacterial mats.

Make Sure to Destroy the Sorrounding Clots First

Some contamination cores will be shielded by an impenetrable shell and can only be eliminated by cleaning the surrounding clots with the Xenochromatic Fontemer Aberrants ability.

Attacking contaminated cores with an impenetrable shell will result in them shooting you back, so prioritize the surrounding clots first.
