Liam is a hidden boss and is one of the Local Legends of Fontaine located within the Erinnyes Forest Region of Genshin Impact 4.2. Check out where to find it and how to beat it in this guide!
Where to Find Liam
Near the Weeping Willow of the Lake
From the Weeping Willow southeast waypoint, head northeast towards a small pond. Next to the pond should be small pathway where Liam, the Fading Rainbow, is seen.
Some enemies such as Pyro Slimes are scattered within this area, so be sure to take care of them before engaging this Local Legend of Fontaine!
How to Defeat Liam
Keep a Shield up!
Liam, the Fading Rainbow, specializes on throwing elemental potions that apply certain elements and deal considerable damage to your characters. Having a shielder unit in your team can greatly make this fight manageable.
Wait for Openings
This Local Legend can easily deliver over-aggressive attacks or passive strategies with front loaded and ranged AoE damage capabilities. Be sure to play offensively only after his attack strings come to a stop.
Use the Terrain!
The area where Liam is can be tricky to manuever around, but it does not mean it cannot be used as part of your strategy.
Use the uneven edges and available higher ground to give yourself some distance from his AoE attacks. He can also drown if pushed to the nearby river.

One of the best ways to beat Liam is to bring a Mono - Geo team. Itto can deal immense amount of damage while being protected by Zhongli so that Liam's attacks can't interupt Itto's combos.
Albedo is also great addition to bring to further enhance Itto's damage, and offering further utility when Itto's Elemental Burst is on cooldown.

The classic Morgana Freeze team could work against Liam, as both Mona and Ganyu can taunt to keep the aggression off from the player. Liam can also be Frozen for a period of time, allowing for more aggressive techniques.

I feel it's worth mentioning that you can push Liam into the pool West of where he spawns to kill him instantly. You'll need to push him in a bit further than his model suggests, but you CAN do it and it will still give you credit for the kill.
