You must first absorb the Sonar ability of a Xenochromatic Blubberbeast to beat the Fading Veteran. This will allow you to launch attacks against the enemy.

Hold down your basic attack and target the blue Blubberbeast to absorb the Sonar ability!

Avoid Attacking the Fading Veteran While It Is Invisible

The Fading Veteran can become invincible and will be immune to all damage. While in this state, it will continue to fire sonar attacks, so make sure to avoid them. You can also use its attacks to track it down!
