Iron Viscount is a hidden boss under the Scorching Caves of Elynas and one of the Local Legends of Fontaine in Genshin Impact. See where to find it and how to defeat it in this guide!
Where to Find the Iron Viscount
Under the Scorching Cave in Elynas
The Iron Viscount is inside the cave called the Scorching Cave in Elynas, Fontaine. The entrance of it can be reached by gathering the Hydrograna puzzle by the boiling waters just south of the Archon of the Seven to open the Treasure Chest and reveal a portal.
Entering this portal transports you to a new cave underwater, where you must douse all Pyro bonfires with Hydrograna to reveal the Iron Viscount boss. See more about this puzzle on the guide below!

How to Defeat the Iron Viscount
Absorb the Armored Crab's Shield Ability
Normal diving attacks are not effective against the Iron Viscount, and the attacks it unleashes deal a huge chunk of damage that you need to mitigate. Luckily, there will be Xenochromatic Armored Crabs nearby, which lets you borrow its abilities!
To absorb its ability, hold your basic attack to target the blue crabs and release. This will absorb its shield powers. You can use the absorbed ability by using the same button as your Elemental Skill.

Parry the Iron Viscount's Attacks
The shield ability from the Xenochromatic Armored Crab lets you shield and deflect the Iron Viscount's attacks. When the boss attacks with either the spinning move or the throwing attack, press the shield ability and aim it back to its sender, which will damage it!
Repeat this attack until the boss is defeated.

Just like most overworld enemies, you will have to wait until the next day for the Iron Viscount to respawn. After defeating the Iron Viscount, you can fight them again after the next server reset.

The Iron Viscount is a boss variant of the Fontemer Aberrants. It is part of the Local Legends of Fontaine, who are formidable enemies with a large HP pool and attacks that can easily one-shot players. Surviving the ordeal will reward you with an achievement.
