Complete Daily Commissions to Get A Story Key

Genshin - Story Keys - Complete 8 Daily Commissions to receive a key

Location 1 Complete 8 Daily Commissions

After reaching Adventure Rank 26, players can obtain one Story Key for every eight Daily Commissions that they complete.

Each player can only get three Story Keys at a time, and must use them on a Story Quest or Hangout Event before being able to collect more.

You can collect your Story Key by going to the Quest List, and going to the Story Quests tab on the lower left corner of the screen.

Unlock Story Quests using 1 Story Key

Genshin - Arataki Itto Story Quest - Unlock with Story Key
Players need to use one Story Key to unlock a character's Story Quest. Each Story Quest has other requirements needed to unlock, however, and may not be available even with the right amount of Story Keys.

Unlock Hangout Events using 2 Story Keys

Genshin - Story Keys - Unlock Hangout event with 2 story keys
Hangout Events were introduced in Version 1.4, and each Hangout Event can be unlocked using 2 Story Keys.

Depending on the Hangout Event, there may still be other requirements needed to unlock it.
