Advanced stage set up works well, gotta drop at the right time and then run down while the bridge is out so the enemies don't regen HP. In the first stage, there isn't enough points for the sticks they recommend. I just left off 1 of the 10 point ones and it worked still.
Setup for advanced stage sucks. I did as recommended, but enemies just ran through. Also the points are not enough to buy all the sticks. How chose if you can't afford all of them?
