ARC Raiders Reveals New Map Condition
A Hurricane Set To Hit On February 24
ARC Raiders developer Embark Studios confirmed in a February 19 post on the game’s official website that a hurricane map condition will arrive in the Shrouded Sky update launching February 24, introducing intense winds and altered visibility during raids, with a new teaser video included in the announcement.
As shown in the teaser, the hurricane isn’t merely cosmetic. The wind changes how players move across the map, making wind direction a constant factor. For example, when the wind blows from behind, known as a tailwind, Raiders gain speed and agility. Meanwhile, pushing against the hurricane’s gales, or its strongest sustained winds, slows movement and rapidly drains stamina. Throwables, such as grenades, can veer off course when thrown in heavy winds. Smoke, gas effects, and even jumping are also affected by the hurricane’s force.

The hurricane also affects the surrounding environment. Strong winds lift dirt and debris from the ground. Shields are not built to withstand this constant impact and will begin to glitch and spark when struck. Players who remain out in the open while using one will gradually degrade its durability and become more visible to nearby Raiders.
Visibility is also reduced as low clouds and shifting skies make the map almost unrecognizable. Lower visibility increases the likelihood of sudden ARC encounters, requiring greater reliance on audio cues to assess nearby threats. It can also be used strategically, as Raiders who move without a shield are harder to detect amid the storm’s chaos.

Powerful winds may also expose valuable Raider Caches, which are loot containers scattered across the map and described as relics from the First Wave. These items can be uncovered during the storm, potentially revealing rewards that would otherwise remain buried. Reaching them, however, still requires surviving ARC threats and rival Raiders.
The hurricane ultimately raises the stakes through heavy winds, debris, and reduced visibility while also creating new opportunities for loot and positioning, forcing players to weigh heightened danger against potential reward. As Embark Studios notes, "The true masters of the Hurricane will be those who work with it, not against it."
Shrouded Sky Continues The 2026 Roadmap

First teased in an 11-second video posted February 17 showing a wind vane spinning nonstop, the hurricane map condition joins other additions arriving in the Shrouded Sky update as part of ARC Raiders’ ongoing 2026 roadmap. The update will also bring several additions, including a new ARC threat, a Player Project, a Raider Deck, map updates, and an Expedition window.
