The Call of Ice and Thunder Challenge Information
What is the Call of Ice and Thunder?
The Call of Ice and Thunder is basically a boss fight against the Bathysmal Vishap Herd, except that you have to defeat them at the same time! You also get help from your handy Bokuso Box gadget during the fight.
How to Unlock The Call of Ice and Thunder Challenge
The Call of Ice and Thunder is part of Three Realms Gateway Opening, so you'll have to unlock that event first. Once you unlock the event, play through parts 1, 2, and 3 of the main event quest chain to unlock ''Three Realms Gateway Offering: Aftermath'' quest.
Completing the ''Aftermath'' quest will unlock The Ice and Thunder Challenge.

Have Claymore Characters in the Party
Destroying the walls will help you defeat the Bolteater Bathysmal Vishap much faster. All Claymore characters can destroy these walls with ease, but a few Catalyst characters like Klee or Ningguang can also fill this need.
Tips for Defeating the Bathysmal Vishap Herd Boss
Dispel the Darkness to prevent Berserk State
During the battle an orb of darkness will form, use your Bokuso Box to dispel it and prevent the Bathysmal Vishaps from entering a berserk state.
You need to defeat both Bathysmal Vishaps at the same time!
You're essentially fighting the Bathysmal Vishap Boss Herd, but you have to defeat them at the same time for this challenge. There's a timer under the newly-defeated Vishap's health bar to indicate the time you have left to defeat the remaining Vishap.
If you don't defeat the other Bathysmal Vishap before the timer runs out, then the defeated Bathysmal Vishap will get revived.
Bathysmal Vishap Herd Boss Guide
Use your Bokusu Box for enemy debuffs
Another difference between this challenge and the regular boss fight is your Bokuso Box. At levels 8 and 13, your Bokuso Box will debuff enemies. You'll also retain the Bokuso Art buffs you unlock.
If your Bokuso Box loses energy, you can stand in the moving circle of light to regain some. Take a look at our Bokuso Box guide for a list of all its uses:
Replenish Energy in the Sentou Area
While fighting the Bathysmal Vishap Herd, there's a glowing circle in the arena that replenishes your Bokuso Box's energy when you step in it. The circle will move around the stage, so keep an eye on it.
