Dead by Daylight could revisit more past Chapters after All-Kill Comeback, as creative director Dave Richard says he’d love to explore additional remakes. Here’s what that could mean for the horror hit.
Dead by Daylight Could Revisit More Past Chapters
Creative Director Says He’d "Love To"

Dead by Daylight creative director Dave Richard said in a recent interview that he is interested in revisiting and remaking more of the game’s original Chapters following All-Kill: Comeback, the upcoming 39th Chapter set to launch March 17.
Speaking with PCGamesN on March 3, Richard wrote, "I personally would love to do it again with more original Chapters as I feel there's so many stories left to be told," though he did not confirm that additional remakes are currently in development.

For Dead by Daylight, "Chapters" serve as major content updates that typically introduce a new Killer and a new Survivor—both playable characters—along with a new map. All-Kill: Comeback revisits Chapter 19, originally released in 2021, marking the first time the studio has returned to and expanded one of its own past releases. The original All-Kill introduced the Trickster, who is a K-pop-inspired Killer, and Survivor Lee Yun-Jin, but did not include a dedicated map at launch.
The upcoming Chapter will rework the Trickster’s gameplay, add a new urban map set in Korea, and introduce a new playable Survivor, Kwon Tae-young, voiced by Kevin Woo. Richard said the team had long intended to refine the Trickster to make him "more interesting to play as and play against," while also responding to "constant requests for the map" that the studio was unable to deliver at the time due to limited development bandwidth.
Revisiting All-Kill’s Korean Setting

Explaining the decision to return to the setting, Richard said, "We were inspired to return to Korea because of the fans, really." It arrives amid the continued global popularity of Korean entertainment, including last year’s breakout film KPop Demon Hunters, which features Woo as part of its cast.
However, Richard clarified that the timing was not a calculated move to capitalize on trends. "We started working on this before the movie came out—so it’s truly a happy coincidence," he said, noting that Woo had previously served as a consultant for the original Chapter before being cast as the voice of the new Survivor.

Still, not every element from the original Chapter will be updated. Survivor Lee Yun-Jin will remain without voice lines when the Chapter releases this month. "In an ideal world I would love for every character to have voice lines, but [...] I can’t make any promises." Richard wrote.
Likewise, he was also asked whether there are other past Chapters that launched without dedicated maps that might eventually receive one. "Yes there are, and while it would be incredible to be able to have all Chapters associated with maps, I sadly can’t promise this," he said.

First released a decade ago, Dead by Daylight is a 4-versus-1 asymmetrical multiplayer horror game in which Survivors attempt to escape while a Killer hunts them down. Since launch, the game has expanded through regular Chapter updates introducing new playable characters and maps, alternating between original storylines and licensed horror crossovers featuring icons such as Jill Valentine from Resident Evil and Ghostface from Scream.
Dead by Daylight is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Steam, Epic Games Store, Windows, Android, and iOS. To stay up to date on the game, check out our related article below.
