How to Unlock The Subterranean Trials of Drake and Serpent
Complete the Prerequisite Quest
Unlock The Subterranean Trials of Drake and Serpent by completing The Entrance to Tokoyo quest!

Go to the ruins up ahead
Go to the ruins up ahead by heading straight to the marked location. You will have to glide to get across the gap. Once you're in the quest area look for a Triangular Mechanism, and attack it once.
Go into the ruins
Monsters will spawn after hitting the Triangular Mechanism. Defeat them, examine the mechanism, and open the great door. Once done go into the ruins.
Talk to the Person
Once inside the ruins, talk to the person on the second floor, who later on named himself, Enjou. Then, examine the inscribed map behind him to unlock the full map of Enkanomiya!
Seek out the Golden Bridle
To ge the Golden Bridle, go to the marked area north of your current location and look for a small building. It will be locked by a Triangular Mechanism puzzle.
Attack the Triangular Mechanism south of the small building first, then attack the Triangular Mechanism to the west. This should solve the puzzle and open the library! The bridle is inside an Exquisite Chest, located within the ruins!
Go to the Library
Once you've obtained the Golden Bridle, go to the library and talk to Enjou. He will then tell you a brief background of the Byakuyakoku, and its relation to the Bathysmal Vishaps.
Follow Enjou's Instructions
After listening to Enjou, follow his instructions, and go to the broken bridge in front of the Dainichi Mikoshi. You can use the Phase Gates to easily hop from one platform to another, until you reach the Dainichi Mikoshi!
Go to the Dainichi Mikoshi
Once you're on the bridge in front of Dainichi Mikoshi, talk to Enjou, and give him the Golden Bridle to remove the barrier from the lighthouse. After activating the mechanism inside, a Sinshade who names himself Argos, or Aru, will tell you of the next trial.
Collect the Fragments
The next trial is to restore the Reins of Revival, Byakuyakoku's national treasure, which can be restored by collecting the three fragments hidden all over Enkanomiya. The key locations of these fragments are the following:
- The Narrows (Dreams in the Gaps Quest)
- Evernight Temple (The Trail of Drake and Serpent Quest)
- Serpent's Heart (The Heart of Ouroboros Quest)
How to Collect The Narrows Fragment
| Step by Step Guide | |

| 1 |  Head to the marked location in The Narrows and look for a Whitenight/Evernight mechanism. |
| 2 |  Defeat the Rimebiter Bathysmal Vishap so you can activate the mechanism easily. |
| 3 |  Use the mechanism to switch to Evernight.[/mid] |
| 4 |  This will repair the broken Triangular Mechanism by the locked gate. Attack that Triangular Mechanism to open the gate and make a path. |
| 5 |  When you get inside, trigger and follow the Seelie. It will lead you to a hole in the ceiling. |
| 6 | Go through the hole in the ceiling and look for a Whitenight/Evernight mechanism.[/mid] |
| 7 |  Switch to Whitenight status and open the chest. This will give you the fragment of the Reins of Revival and complete the quest! |

How to Collect Evernight Temple Fragment
| Step by Step Guide | |

| 1 |  Head to the marked location in Evernight Temple. You can either glide from the Teleport Waypoint on the west side of Dainichi Mikoshi or take the long route. |
| 2 |  Once you're at the location, new markers will pop up. Go to those locations and investigate the three glowing markers to advance. |
| 3 |  Defeat all of the opponents near the final glowing marker to unlock the unique cube mechanism, Daises of Night and Day. Note that you need to be in the Evernight state for this. If you aren't in the Evernight state, activate the Whitenight/Evernight mechanism nearby. |
| 4 |  Activate the cube mechanism and go inside the room. |
| 5 |  Make sure you're in the Whitenight state before solving the puzzle. Here's a quick guide: 1. Attack the Triangular Mechanism 2 times. 2. Use lever near the Whitenight Mechanism. 3. Attack the Triangular Mechanism again. 4. Use the other lever, the one farther from the Whitenight Mechanism. 5. Use the lever near the Whitenight Mechanism again. |
| 6 |  From the Triangular Mechanism, go left and behind the wall. Follow the glowing markers until you reach a room with a chest. Make sure you have your best characters equipped because you'll be facing Rifthounds here! |
| 7 |  Defeat the Rifthound enemies and open the chest to get the fragment of the Reins of Revival. |
The Trail of Drake and Serpent Quest Guide
Return to Dainichi Mikoshi
After getting all three fragments for the Reins of Revival, return to Dainichi Mikoshi, and give the fragments to Aru. He then guides you towards the chamber of the Final Trial, where you need to defeat the Bathysmal Vishap, and the Pyro Abyss Lector!
Talk to Tsuyuko
Once you've obtained the Bloodbranch Coral from the corpse of the Vishap, and after hearing Enjou's story, talk to Tsuyuko back in the surface of Watatsumi!

Anonymous 10 monthsit could be worse. It could be the beetle stags. I just unloked it today . . . . took me two days OTL Just mostly frustrated navigating it but the primos and sigils helped me bear it.

been messing with th boss off and on...it being the end of the line and me being unable to defeat it is just fine...more pitrogems elsewhere. not worth the frustrations of trying to understand it's mechanics it can one shot you...at least is seems like it.
