still surprised how my f2p lyney with just r5 ibis piercer could nuke 133k at lvl 80 and 8 8 8 talents 😭
yeah, Fontaine dps have some of the best constellations in game on top of being super good and flexible even at c0. Can solo content in their own and don’t need much investment either.
alhaitham and neuvillette have a variety of teams that can still rival all dps even when not their best. Very flexible and can work with almost every unit in game. Hu Tao in the other hand? Without double hydro she’s pretty meh, same for ayaka dmg difference between premium and f2p (diona - sucrose - Mona etc.) is pretty big. Same with lyney, not many pyro supports/good sub dps really restrict his teams.
and they actually have good constellation themselves too. while sumeru dps best constellation is c2 nahida lol.
they are not overrated. they are the best kind of dps you could ask for. they can stand for themselves. nice raw dmg + survivability + no energy issue.
if youre smart enough you shouldnt be asking such question!!

sumeru dps : reaction chars, that's why they need another char for boost their dmg, and u can use another dendro units instead nahidook.. fontaine dps : frontloaded chars, literal straighforward-only for damage without reaction. still need damage buff support such as benny, etc . fontaine dps'es are overrated imo..
speaking of c6 i wanna mention best whale speedrun team for c6 navia is quickswap dps setup with c6 lyney. navia-lyney-kazuha-bennett.
well you need high investment even his c6 to ditch kuki/quickbloom to feel better about his quicken spread team. and at c6 tighnari team performs better.
Sorry for repeating this. Alhaitham quicken spread team is actually stronger than his quickbloom team. However, like I said before, this team depends a lot on your investment. Quickbloom is a team that you can create and complete rather easily while giving a great result. However its damage ceiling is low but still can carry you through abyss, while Alhaitham quicken spread requires investment but the damage ceiling it can reach is higher than the quickbloom
Alhaitham spread is actually stronger but it depends on the amount of investment you put on him.
neuvillette effortlessly solos.
every character needs a specific team for full potential. You won’t see a bloom or aggravate alhaitham doing as much dmg as his quickbloom. Same with Neuvillette.
Most people don't know about her personal dmg because if how broken hyperbloom is but her dmg itself is not half bad
Well mine with quicken does a lot of dmg, so I think S is good

What I meant was they need to activate their burst hence why they need their burst since it provides utility (Alhaitham: mirrors; Neuvillette: droplets)
then there are units like ayaka, Childe and even Hu Tao reliant reliant specific team units set up for full potential. They can use other teammates and set ups but the dmg difference is pretty noticeable compared to the likes of Alhaitham and Neuvillette who just want an electro/hydro and shielder. The same could be said for lyney too though I guess.
i like fontainian dps cuz they all seem to be independant units. sumeru dps units really depend on nahida to be at their best. while units like like lyney, rizzley, neuvillette navia dont have most of their potential locked behind furina. hope this continues until the end of fontaine.
