xiao can only reach a certain ceiling because he has no access to reactions, whereas Diluc has melt and vape

Idk from where you got this info, but Diluc is almost in every scenario better. Plunge vape Diluc has 3x more DPS than Hypercarry Xiao 😂
can't say i agree. ayaka has only 1 team and she only performs good if she has the best supports. and it's quite evident they're ranking the characters with their best teams. otherwise if you put someone like tartaglia or even alhaitham alone they deal piss poor damage
You could put Diluc in highest A tier but what then is Gaming's strength compared to him
Thing is, if they're putting Gaming C6 to S tier then Diluc should be nearby too. And Gaming is really strong with Xianyun and Furina
But that niche around that one character is strong though and deserving of S. Look at Nilou bloom or Kuki.
I don't disagree that character ranking should change with the new meta. I just do not think the tier list should be based on arguably niche playstyles centred around one character. I am open to changing my mind though.
Meant to reply to both. One five star changing Diluc ranking to S is acceptable tbh. Not like Diluc is the first unit got promoted to a better tier after some new meta dropped.

rosaria is better for more consistent big melt dmg since her burst has no icd. while its hard to vape with furina the dmg is still good.
ive seen ppl tried melt plunge diluc too. they used rosaria. the dmg was better than vape.
So we are ignoring synergy now? One 5 star changing the meta and buffing character is normal. Also can you drop your team build because so far I am unimpressed with Xiao's dmg compared to Gaming and Diluc. C6 Gaming and Diluc plunge 200k-300k while Xiao only does 100k. It's weird if your Xiao is the fastest.
I agree and it is very misleading especially for newer players. Diluc being put in S tier based on ONE other 5 star character is crazy. The S and SS DPS's should either have lots of team options or can deal high damage using their own builds/talents/artifacts.
Idk from where you got this info, but Xiao is almost in every scenario better. He's good with bosses, multiply enemies (because of his AoE plunge dmg from ult). Diluc is just better because he's easier to get. I tested Xiao, Diluc and Hu tao with Xianyun and Xiao was the best and Diluc was the worst. The difference was like ~2 seconds but it's still the difference. I still think that Xiao deserves getting on better tier.
