Not much is known about Asmoday other than that she is the God that took the Traveler's sibling at the start of the game.

According to the Shades' conversation, she had never missed a previous Shade meeting, and was rumored to be following a new master hence her extended absence.

Ruler of Space

Genshin - Ruler of Space

As the Ruler of Space, Asmoday commands dominion over concepts and fields related to space, such as being able to manifest and take away space in many forms such as corrupted blocks.

This same power was likely used on the Abyss Twin to trap and separate them from the Traveler many years before they woke up.

Speculated By Fans To Be Paimon

Following the timeline of events and the recent Interlude Chapter with Ronova's words, there is more speculation that Asmoday herself is currently in hiding as the Traveler's companion, Paimon.
