Due to the Rifthound Whelps in this level, bringing Electro-Charged teams with a healer can trivialize this part of the event as their wave-clearing potential and healing can make quick work of the Whelps.
Exploit Pyro Teams
Against the Lava Dragon Statue, you want to bring Pyro-centered teams as you can use Pyro Application in order to overload and weaken the Lava Dragon Statue and render it immobile.
Lay Low the Lava's Lord First Half Strategy
Keep On-Field Character HP High
The First Half's main method is point acquisition is to keep your health above 85%, which can be done so by having healers on the team.
Secondly, as all enemies on this level are Rifthound Whelps that teleport around, bringing Electro-Charge reactions can allow you to track the Rifthounds with consistent damage through their small teleports.
Lay Low the Lava's Lord Second Half Strategy
Overwhelm Dragon Statue With Pyro
Apply Pyro to the Lava Dragon Statue in order to cause it to Overburn and stun it in place, letting you deal uninterrupted damage to it.
Otherwise, there is no other required strategy as the Lava Dragon Statue can be repeatedly stunned and overburned.
Bring a Healer or Shielder
Due to the Lava Dragon Statue's heavy-hitting attacks, it is important to bring either a Healer or Shielder in order to prevent it from stopping the flow of combat by killing one or more of your party members.
