Cihuacoatl of Chimeric Bone is a hidden boss and is one of the Local Legends of Natlan located south of the Scions of the Canopy in Genshin Impact 5.0. Check out where to find it and how to beat it in this guide!
Cihuacoatl of Chimeric Bone can be found on top of a rock formation just south of the Scions of the Canopy, hidden within a Nightsoul Totem.
You can reach this area by taking the teleport waypoint below the rock formation, then using the nearby Yumkasaurus to hookshot your way to the top.
During the fight, after every five or so attacks, Cihuacoatl of Chimeric Bone will summon three Dendro zip points to hang from. These need to be broken down with Elements that react to Dendro such as Pyro, Electro, and Hydro.
When all zip points are broken down, Cihuacoatl will fall to the ground and be staggered for a time, allowing the player to unload a full damage rotation without consequence.
These zip points will be unreachable for most of your melee units, requiring the use of a Bow Character or anyone with ranged capabilities in order to take care of the Dendro objects.
Electro units such as Clorinde, Fischl, and Yae Miko are noteworthy here due to their capabilities to hit the Dendro points with either their weapon or Elemental Skills.
Cihuacoatl of Chimeric Bone will often take turns between repositioning and attacking, so whenever you see her reposition with her grappling hook, be prepared to dodge her next attack.
Her melee attacks have long windups, so use her sound cues as a way to time your dodges or Elemental Bursts to i-frame through her more powerful hits.
Since Cihuacoatl of Chimeric Bone is an average-sized opponent, triggering Freeze repeatedly on her can be an effective way to deny usage of any of her mobility tools.
It is even possible to lock Cihuacoatl in a near-permanent freeze with good rotations!
Cihuacoatl of Chimeric Bone is an opponent who uses her Dendro cannon for quick attack bursts and her grappling hook for mobility, increasing the importance for units with abilities not tied to a zone.
This means high-mobility or high-range characters are preferred due to their ability to keep up against Cihuacoatl's frequent repositioning.
Main DPS | Sub-DPS | Sub-DPS/ Support |
Support |
---|---|---|---|
Lyney | Kazuha | Bennett | Zhongli |
Clorinde | Fischl | Nahida | Kazuha |
Neuvillette | Furina | Fischl | Jean |
Wriothesley | Shenhe | Furina | Kokomi |
These characters were chosen due to either their high-ranged attacks, high mobility without sacrificing damage, or the ability to completely lock down the opponent in Wriothesley's case.
Cihuacoatl of Chimeric Bone is fought by accessing a Nightsoul Totem which means it does not exist in the overworld. Therefore, you can fight this Local Legend as many times as you want without waiting for server reset.
Cihuacoatl of Chimeric Bone is one of the Local Legends of Natlan. Defeating them rewards you with an achievement!

There is NOTHING better for this challenge than Raiden+Nahida combination, Nahida's E triggers Raiden's electro easily without any need to aim with a bow. Also stand right below the boss and she will not be able to hit you while hooked, just autoattack her from there, Raiden E + Nahida E and it will be the easiest of the Totems' challenges for you.
