Where to Find Chimalli's Shade
Found in Ancestral Temple
Chimalli's Shade is fought after interacting with the Nightsoul Totem found in the Ancestral Temple. It is just a short glide from the Waypoint, so you won't get lost.
How to Defeat Chimalli's Shade
Freeze and Charge-Attack the Bubbles
The key to winning this fight is freezing all the bubbles and charge-attacking them towards Chimalli's Shade. This would deplete its shield, opening it to attacks.
Freeze Pillars and Hide Behind It
When Chimalli's Shade produces multiple pillars around it, it will use a Neuvillette-like Hydro beam attack. Freezing a Pillar and then hiding behind it trivializes this attack altogether.
Conserve Stamina
Since you have to charge-attack all frozen bubbles, conserve your stamina by limiting sprinting. We also suggest eating food that will decrease Stamina depletion so you'll have an easier time.
Use Cryo During Its Charging Phase
When Chimalli's Shade starts charging in the middle, it will produce bubbles at the edge of the arena then pull them towards the center. Make sure to freeze and charge-attack the bubbles to deplete the shield. If Chimalli's Shade's shield is not depleted after a time, it will explode - dealing one-hit KO damage to your on-field character.
For a free-to-play option, use Kaeya's Burst as it will apply Cryo passively without waiting for cooldowns. This is extremely helpful since you have to manage your stamina and just reserve them all to charge-attacking frozen bubbles.
Rosaria is another option, but due to her skill cooldown, she doesn't apply cryo as fast as Kaeya's Burst.
Lastly, it'll be faster if you can use Cryo Catalyst characters. Wriothesley and Charlotte, can easily apply cryo with their normal attacks to the bubbles during the charge phase.

Kaeya is the best character to bring here because he can do off-field Cryo application without expending any Stamina. Remember, you have to use charge attack against the bubbles to push them towards the Local Legend, so conserving Stamina is key.
Any other teams are also viable but we suggest having another Cryo character together with Kaeya for additional Cryo application. We opted for Ayaka because she also deals great damage - making the fight a bit faster.

Wriothesley and Charlotte can easily apply cryo with their normal attacks. This doesn't spend any stamina which should be easier in pushing the bubbles to the boss to deplete its shield. Lastly, other alternatives to Furina are Yelan or Xingqui.

Can Be Fought Anytime
Chimalli's Shade is fought by accessing a Nightsoul Totem which means it does not exist in the overworld. Therefore, you can fight this Local Legend as many times as you can without waiting for server reset.

Anonymous 5 monthsFr. I don't have Charlotte and my Raiden can't one shot it immediately so I always die at the second shielding phase because Kaeya's Ult runs out and it's still sucking bubbles
