Where to Find Cineas

Found in a Cave in the Sea of Bygone Eras

The Local Legend Cineas is found inside a large cavern under the Clivus Capitolinus in the Sea of Bygone Eras in Fontaine. There are two entrances to this cavern that you can use without trouble.

Progress the Canticles of Harmony World Quest

To unlock this area of the Sea of Bygone Eras, you must first progress the Gradus ad Capitolium sub-quest of the Canticles of Harmony world quest chain!

How to Defeat Cineas

Destroy its Hydro Armor with Dendro or Pyro

Cineas starts off with a Hydro armor that reduces the damage they take, which also applies Hydro to itself. Get rid of the armor by triggering Hydro reactions such as Bloom or Vaporize.

Beware Cineas' Energy Leeching Attack

Some of Cineas' attack can eat away at your active character's Elemental Burst energy, whether or not you are shielded. If your character does not have energy, their HP will be reduced instead.

A surefire way to beat Cineas is with a Hyperbloom or Quicken team, with a Dendro or Electro character as your Main DPS! Dendro can get rid of its armor quickly and the Elemental Reactions can stack up fast against its sizable health bar.

Fischl or Yae Miko can be good supports for Alhaitham as well. For a Quicken team, you can swap Xingqiu with Nahida!

Freeze Team

Another option is a standard Freeze team, to stop Cineas and its attacks altogether. Bring a Cryo DPS like Ayaka or Rosaria with Hydro supports to Freeze the enemy.

You can also use Layla with a Hydro DPS like Ayato instead, if you prefer having a shield to avoid interruptions.

Respawns at Server Reset

Just like most overworld enemies, you will have to wait until the next day for the Cineas to respawn. After defeating the enemy, you can fight it again after the next server reset.
