Complete the An Impromptu Change of Plan

To unlock the Custodian of Clouds quest, you will need to reach Adventure Rank 23 or above and complete the second part of Chapter 1: Act 1: An Impromptu Change of Plan!

Custodian of Clouds Walkthrough

Search for Cloud Retainer

To begin the quest, travel to Mt. Aocang and find the Round Table in the middle of the pond.

Look for Traces of Food Offerings

Locate the stoves around the pond. To find the stove, simply follow the marked locations on your map.

When you get to the stove, look around for the ingredients and recipe for Jewerly Soup and Matsutake Rolls.

Offer up Food to Cloud Retainer

After gathering the ingredients and recipes, prepare the three dishes and serve them at the table in the center of the pond. Jewelry Soup, Matsutake Rolls, and Mora Meat are the dishes that you must prepare.

By opening the quest menu, you can also see what dishes that you need to cook.

Enter the Quest Domain: Cloud Retainer's Abode

The cave's seal will be removed after the dishes have been offered. Go to the cave and look for the domain. Before entering the domain, you must have a Pyro character equipped in your team. 

Search for Cloud Retainer

	Cloud Retainer's Abode Guide
1	Activate the mechanism using Pyro attack.
2	After activating the mechanism, a time trial will begin in which you must fight and defeat Slimes.
3	Switch on the device, then move on to the following platform. This time, you must defeat Hiluchurls in order to unlock the device.
4	In the next platform you will need to solve the puzzle in order to unlock the device. Light all of the mechanisms in the correct order to proceed to the next platform.
5	Proceed to the final platform to meet the Cloud Retainer. After talking to her, the quest will be completed.

How to Solve the Chest Puzzle in Cloud Retainer's Abode

Rotate the Platform 90 Degrees Clockwise

To access the puzzle area, activate the device on the platform where you defeated the Hilichurl and select “Rotate 90 Degrees Clockwise” once.

Watch the Pattern Carefully

To determine the correct sequence, observe the order in which the mechanisms light up. Using Pyro attack, recreate the patterns of the mechanisms.

Common Chest Puzzle Solution

For the first puzzle, you will get a common chest by successfully lighting the three mechanisms in the right order.

Exquisite Chest Puzzle Solution

You'll receive an exquisite chest if you successfully light up four mechanisms in the designated order on the second puzzle.

Precious Chest Puzzle Solution

Lighting all five mechanisms in the correct order will get you the precious chest.
