Players will need to reach Adventure Rank 40 to unlock Cyno's Story Quest, Sands of Solitude. They will also need to complete the new Archon Quest, King Deshret and the Three Magi!
A Story Key is also required to unlock the quest. A Story Key can be earned after completing 8 Daily Commissions.

| 1 |  Enter the Akademiya at Sumeru City. |
| 2 |  Fast-travel to the waypoint near the objective marker. Watch the cutscene that follows. |
| 3 |  Head to the objective marker east of the waypoint. |
| 4 |  Go to The Palace of Alcazarzaray and talk to Dori. |
| 5 |  Fast-travel to Caravan Ribat and talk to Cyno. |
| 6 |  Head to the desert west of Caravan Ribat. Defeat the mercenaries that appear after the cutscene. |

| 5 |  Head to the objective marker northwest of Aaru Village. |

| 1 |  Head back to the Akademiya at Sumeru City and find Nabil. |
| 2 |  Go to the repository west of the Akademiya and talk to Utayba. |
| 3 | Investigate the four points of interest around the auction site. |
| 4 |  Look for the yellow shiny part at the bookshelf to interact with the Sealed Materials: The Court of Desolation. Leave the repository after the cutscene ends. |
| 5 |  Head to the one of the objective markers and talk to Jehnam. |
| 6 |  Head north of Jehnam and talk to Badr. |
| 7 |  Head down and find Payam, the guard with green clothes, and talk to him. |
| 8 |  Go to Taj's House north of Sumeru City. |
| 9 |  Meet up with Cyno at Aaru Village. |
| 10 |  Find the ruin with two torches at the entrance to enter the Court of Desolation. |
| 11 |  Reach the depths of the Court of Desolation to find Taj inside. Defeat him in a boss battle. |
| 12 |  Wait for four days to resume the quest. Fast-travel to Caravan Ribat. |
| 13 |  Head to the area with the bulletin board to trigger a cutscene with Cyno and complete the quest. |
