too much assumptions here. all depends on his weapon, artifact substats, teammates artifacts and their weapons too. for example you wouldnt want to use gd if your diluc em already high, furina using kofn, someone is already using instructor in that team and em abyss card. cw is overall better for short nuke showcases.

we do use use them for showcases. even whale furina uses fav in speedrun.
it is not with crit weapon and xianyun buffing cr too. only c0 wriothesley plunge use mh as bis. lol my point is diluc clears faster since he plunges harder instead of relying on mere plunge quantity.
36% CR is huge compared to just 15% Pyro+15% Vape/Melt 30% damage bonus gets affected by diminishing returns because of Furina. This makes crit stats much more valuable. Here is a calculation for Gilded vs MH, Gilded is better in plunge teams compared to CWoF because EM gets affected by diminishing returns less when you're not using an EM weapon

You wouldn't want to have pyro aura on the enemy in a vape plunge team so hydro chara won't be doing the reactions but enabling them
Who in the hell uses Fav+Milelith on Furina lmao? Noblesse on Xianyun and Milelith on Faruzan is much better. Like YSHelper is also not reliable because it ignores ICD for hydro app
You might be right, but I'd wager that Diluc still requires considerably more investment and setup to get there. With Ayaka the rotation is fairly straightforward and likely employs CC to bring her out and deliver her Burst to likely frozen targets. Meanwhile Dragon strike Diluc, will also need a rational team with a C6 Bennett to skip Diluc's Burst and careful deployment of Xianyun's Burst to offer Diluc his best DPS window, all while targets are where you want them?
people forgot with pyro in the team, the hydro sub dps/support also becomes stronger because of reaction. so team dps >>>>

real. 2 plunges from diluc is equal to ayakas entire burst.
the thing is diluc and hu tao can do big reaction hitting big numbers even when they get less plunges
wrong. according to calculation crimson witch is better even without maxing 3 stacks. the 15% pyro dmg bonus + vape/melt increases by 15% are still better. mh just allows you to get easier cr.

Both Diluc and Xiao are stronger than Ayaka
Can outdamage? Yes, outdps? No. Remember Hu Tao only gets to 5NC5JP with her best combo, Her plunge damage is lower than Diluc but slightly higher than Xiao. She is as consistent as Xiao since you will use XQ/Yelan instead of Bennett. Diluc deals the highest but you can't just do your combo freely and just have to wait for Furina to apply hydro otherwise if you mistime your plunge you'll lose 40% of your dps
