One of the Three Moon Sisters
Aria is one of the Three Moon Sisters, along with Sonnet and Canon. She is known to be the Goddess of the Eternal Moon, the biggest moon amongst the three moons in the sky of Teyvat.
First mentioned in the story within Fractured Halo, Aria was created by Nibelung as the Goddess of the Eternal Moon before departing Teyvat in order to aid him in governing Teyvat while he is absent.
Aria Story and Character Lore
Created by Nibelung to Maintain Teyvat
Sonnet and the other Moon Goddesses were created by original ruler of the Teyvat, the Dragon King Nibelung. The Three Goddesses kept peace and harmony in Teyvat until the first Descender arrived, The Heavenly Principles.
The Eternal Moon was Destroyed During the War of the Funerary Flame
According to Nicole in Act VI of the Song of the Welkin Moon Quest, Aria and her sisters co-existed with the Heavenly Principles as they both aim to maintain the planet alive and operational. However, Nibelung saw this as disloyalty and imprisoned the Moon Sisters before transforming the moons into weapons against the Heavenly Principles.
As a result, The Heavenly Principles shattered the Eternal Moon and Iridescent Moon in retaliation, which led to her being cursed to be slowly rejected by Teyvat.
Remnants of the Eternal Moon Was Accidentally Unveiled by Mavuika
During the events of Act IV of the Chapter V of the Natlan Archon Quest, Mavuika tore a hole in the False Sky which revealed the remains of the shattered Eternal Moon.

Remains Were Turned Into the Eternal Moon's Marrow
According to Columbina in Act II of the Song of the Welkin Moon Quest, the Eternal Moon Marrow is what remains of Aria and her power following the destruction of the Eternal Moon during the During the War of the Funerary Flame.
Handed Over Her Authority to Columbina
During the events of the Act VIII of the Song of the Welkin Moon Quest, Aria and her sisters pass their authority to the three moons over to Columbina. This power is what they use to defeat the Doctor.
According to Alice however, the three goddesses split their powers to not consolidate them into one singular body. This is due to the Trilunar Syzygy, which is said to weaken Teyvat's borders.

True Moon Archon Quest
Aria, along with her two sisters, appears in-game during The First Sliver of Moonlight subquest of the True Moon Archon Quest. This is where the three Moon Goddesses gave the sole authority of the moons to Columbina.
