One of the Three Moon Sisters
Sonnet is one of the Three Moon Sisters, along with Aria and Canon. She is known to be the Goddess of the Iridescent Moon, the smallest moon amongst the three moons in the sky of Teyvat.
Sonnet Story and Character Lore
Created by Nibelung to Maintain Teyvat
Sonnet and the other Moon Goddesses were created by original ruler of the Teyvat, the Dragon King Nibelung. The Three Goddesses kept peace and harmony in Teyvat until the first Descender arrived, The Heavenly Principles.
Death of Nibelung Imprisoned the Moon Sisters
Afterwards, the Heavenly Principles tried to govern Teyvat, then everything went dark. Nibelung disagreed with the Heavenly Principles and started a war against them, namely the War of Funerary Flames.
With Nibelung outpowered, the Heavenly Principles took over Teyvat, which lead to the imprisonment of the Moon Sisters.
The Moons Were Shattered by the Heavenly Principles
During the War of Funerary Flame, the Heavenly Principles shattered the Moons except for the Frost Moon and the remnants scattered around Teyvat. The remains of the Iridescent Moon merged with the Abyss and was known as the Crimson Moon in Khaenri'ah.
The outcome of the Crimson Moon being merged with the abyss is similar to Sonnet's characteristic. Based from her cutscene with Columbina, She is easily exploitable by the Abyss because she is too afraid to die.
Sonnet In-Game Appearances
True Moon Archon Quest
Sonnet, along with her two sisters, appears in-game during The First Sliver of Moonlight subquest of the True Moon Archon Quest. This is where the three Moon Goddesses gave the sole authority of the moons to Columbina.
