Bring Nightsoul-Based Team
For the Advance Preparation, its highly advisable that you form a Nightsoul-Based team to deal with the waves of Tenebrous Mimesis.
Chasca is provided as a trial character for this stage, which is sufficient enough to reach a high level during Advance Preparation, pairing her up with another Natlan unit like Ororon is advisable for the team Nightsoul-Based attacks. Mavuika can clear this with high levels easily.
Bring High-Frequency Elemental Team.
Consistent Elemental application is also a very viable strategy for this Advanced Preparation.
Burning in particular stands out as the best for this strategy. With this in mind, Emilie is the premier Burning support, bringing her in with a Pyro unit should reach high levels.

Bring Hydro-Related Reaction Teams
For the Formal Engagement stage, use Hydro-related Reactions to utlize the buffs acquired during the Advanced Preparation.
Bloom, Hyperbloom, Electro-Charged, and Vaporize are best for this stage, but as long as you can trigger Hydro-related reaction, anything should suffice.
How to Beat Explore the Mist
Break Void Wards in Advance Preparations
During Advance Preparations, make sure to consistently deal Nightsoul-Based damage against the enemies. Don't bother with too much setups as time is of the essence for this stage.
Fortunately, the Free Trial character Chasca can satisfy this caveat since she can consistently deal Nightsoul-Based damage and elemental applications. Make sure to pair her with different units from different element to utlize to the fullest.
Bring a Hydro Reaction Team in Formal Engagement
During Formal Engagement, make sure to bring a team that can trigger Hydro-related Reactions to utilize the buffs provided in Advanced Preparation.
Vaporize in particular is amazing as it deals a ton of damage against enemies that will help you gather more points quickly. Arlecchino Vape teams can easily clear the waves of enemies for this stage.
