A Brief History of Rocks is located at Atocpan, in the nation of Natlan. This quest will begin as you speak with Mposo at the Remnants of Tetenanco, which is related to another quest, The Way Into the Mountain.

You can also unlock this quest while doing the The Way Into the Mountain, as you will have an optional objective to go through the excavation site, which located at the south of the mountain.

Upon reaching the Remnants of Tetenanco, you'll come across the sealed ruins and you can only unlock this quest by speaking with Mposo which is near the teleporter.

Interact with Mposo to ask for clues on reaching the Sacred Mountain. He will mention that he needs your help to clear away the Pulverite.

Genshin Impact - Excavation Site Part 1
Use the Tatankasaurus to sprint and smash the Pulverite rocks in the surrounding quest area.

Genshin Impact - Excavation Site Part 2
After clearing the Pulverite, touch the Iridescent Inscriptions that were hidden inside of the rocks. The first one is located to the right of the sealed ruins.

Go down the excavation site and touch the second iridescent inscription.

Genshin Impact - Excavation Site Part 4
For the third iridescent inscription, it is located near the lava area.

Genshin Impact - Excavation Site Part 5
After touching the third one, a Fluid Avatar of Lava will appear. Defeat the enemy to collect the last iridescent inscription to unseal the wall.

Talk to Mposo

Genshin Impact - Talk to Mposo

After clearing the Pulverite and unlocking the sealed ruins, speak with Mposo to learn the story behind the golden seal. He will also mention a way to get to the Skyfire Circlet and reach the volcano.
