Polychrome Tri-Stars is a hidden boss and is one of the Local Legends of Natlan located in Huitztli Hill of Genshin Impact 5.0. Check out where to find it and how to beat it in this guide!

Where to Find Polychrome Tri-Stars

Found in Near Huitztli Hill During the Day

Polychrome Tri-Stars Map Location - Genshin Impact

The three Polychrome Tri-stars members are found near the pond atop the plateau to the west of Goldflame Qucusaur Tyrant. They wander near the edge of the pond and will go aggro when approached. They also only spawn in the day so make sure to wait it out if it's still night.

They are composed of three Fatui Skirmishers: a Pyroslinger Bracer, a Cryogunner Legionnaire, and an Electrohammer Vanguard.

How to Defeat Polychrome Tri-Stars

Run Around to Separate Them

Running around will separate the three of them effectively. The Electrohammer will actively rush towards you, so you can easily isolate him from the rest. The Cryogunner can jump in though, but is usually the slower one. The Pyroslinger tend to stay in the outskirts, so it is much easier to deal with them.

Take Out the Pyroslinger First

Genshin Impact - Focus on the Pyroslinger

The Pyroslinger will mostly attack you from the outskirts with Pyro attacks. These attacks trigger Overloaded with the Electrohammer and Melt with the Cryogunner. Eliminating the Pyroslinger removes those powerful reactions from the equation.

Be Careful of the Electrohammer's Attacks

Genshin Impact - Electrohammer Breaks Zhongli Shield

The Electrohammer is by far the one that deals the most damage. Two swings from their combo can break a 51k HP Zhongli shield, so always make sure to not be complacent and actively evade all their attacks.

Be Aware of Their Post-KO Attacks

Genshin Impact - Cryogunner Cryo AoE Field

All three of the Tri-Stars will execute a final attack after getting KO'd. You might get caught with this one and cause utter defeat if ignored.

The Cryogunner will spawn an AoE Cryo circle that deals DoT, while the Electrohammer and Pyroslinger both leave a ball that explodes in an AoE, dealing damage using their respective element.

Don't Run Too Far

If you take the fight too far from the fatui's spawnpoint, the fight will reset and all your hardwork will be gone. The Pyroslinger will mostly try to jump away from you, so it's best if you face the spawnpoint during the fight so he'll jump towards it. If you have your back against their spawpoint, the Pyroslinger will jump away from it which will take the fight farther.

Bring Food

Don't forget to bring food into the fight. Make sure to bring food that can revive one of your teammates, as well as a dish that can heal a lot of HP.

Recommended Team Against Polychrome Tri-Stars

Hyperbloom Team

Genshin - Alhaitham Alhaitham Genshin - Raiden Raiden Genshin - Yelan Yelan Genshin - Nahida Nahida
Genshin - Shinobu Shinobu Genshin - Xingqiu Xingqiu Genshin - Collei Collei Genshin - Traveler (Dendro) Traveler (Dendro)

A hyperbloom team would be a good way to cover the shields generated by the three Fatui vanguards. Not only that, it should deal maximum damage via the cores.

Just make sure to have the three ingredients of a hyperbloom team: A Hydro character, a Dendro applicator, and an Electro character that activates the cores.

Bring a Shielder

Though you will mostly just evade all attacks, it is good to bring a shielder in your party to make it easier for you to manage AoE attacks. The best one to bring is Zhongli, but other shield characters like Layla and Baizhu may also work.

Bring an Anemo Character

Anemo characters who can gather enemies, like Kazuha and Sucrose, are great for this fight due to their swirl reaction. It will certainly help in depleting the fatuis's shields.

Wtf is this fight? My strongest team is a Nilou/Nahida build and it straight-up doesn't drop seeds. Did they nerf my strongest team or something? They keep removing Nahida's tag and Nilou didn't trigger anything even when it was on them so what gives?

This is ridiculously hard on world level 9 without Zhongli.
