How to Beat Chains of Wrath

Surge Mode

Centered Around Charged and Plunging Attacks

The Blade Mirage this time around will prioritize Charged and Plunging Attacks. Bringing characters who excel in these attacks will benefit hugely from it, and will aid greatly in taking out entire waves of enemies all at once.

Steadfast Mode

Prioritize Bigger Enemies

In Steadfast Mode, even regular Hilichurls will seem harder to take down due to higher HP and stronger DEF. Taking this into account, it'll be best to prioritize larger enemies like the Hilichurl Rogues since they will be the beefiest ones in the bunch.

The ordinary Hilichurls should go down collaterally, especially if you take advantage of the Blade Mirage, but it'll be best to use characters that hit in an AoE just to be sure. Also, watch out for the big bad Thunderhelm Lawachurl at the very end!

Best Teams for Chains of Wrath

Hyperbloom Teams

Main-DPS Sub-DPS Sub-DPS Support
Genshin - Raiden Raiden Genshin - Yelan Yelan Genshin - Nahida Nahida Genshin - Baizhu Baizhu
Genshin - Alhaitham Alhaitham Genshin - Yelan Yelan Genshin - Nahida Nahida Genshin - Shinobu Shinobu

Still a very well-rounded and high DMG dealing option, Hyperbloom is versatile enough to get through any shield and hits hard enough to defeat even the most formidable opponents.

Alhaitham, despite only using his Charged ATK to generate a Chisel-Light Mirror, will still benefit largely from this stage's Blade Mirage and will add to the already powerful Hyperbloom reaction.

Freeze Teams

Main-DPS Sub-DPS Sub-DPS Support
Genshin - Ayaka Ayaka Genshin - Shenhe Shenhe Genshin - Kazuha Kazuha Genshin - Kokomi Kokomi
Genshin - Ganyu Ganyu Genshin - Rosaria Rosaria Genshin - Sucrose Sucrose Genshin - Kokomi Kokomi

Powerful Cryo units like Ayaka and Ganyu, who also both excel in Charged ATKs, are very much capable of clearing this stage as quickly as possible when put into Freeze teams.

It might also be in your best interest to bring Anemo characters like Kazuha and Sucrose to help keep mobs of enemies stuck in a single spot for easy eradication as well as DMG support.

Plunging ATK Team

Main-DPS Sub-DPS Sub-DPS Support
Genshin - Xiao Xiao Genshin - Xiangling Xiangling Genshin - Sucrose Sucrose Genshin - Bennett Bennett

Apart from buffing Charged ATKs, Plunging ATKs as well as ATK SPD are also dramatically increased. Therefore, Xiao will shine brightly in this team composition, with Anemo Elemental Resonance providing further haste to the party!

Sucrose will be useful in this team due to her Elemental Mastery support, which will add to Xiao's Swirl DMG, as well as keeping enemies locked in place.

Geo Charged ATK Teams

Main-DPS Sub-DPS Sub-DPS Support
Genshin - Itto Itto Genshin - Albedo Albedo Genshin - Gorou Gorou Genshin - Zhongli Zhongli
Genshin - Ningguang Ningguang Genshin - Albedo Albedo Genshin - Bennett Bennett Genshin - Zhongli Zhongli
Genshin - Noelle Noelle Genshin - Gorou Gorou Genshin - Bennett Bennett Genshin - Zhongli Zhongli

When it comes to Charged ATKs, Itto, Ningguang, and Noelle also come into mind. Also remembering how versatile and powerful Geo is, their potential should not be overlooked.

Putting them in mono-Geo teams and paring them up with Gorou and Bennett for ATK boosts will result in extremely high DMG outputs. Add Zhongli's shield capabilities as well as his debuffing passive, you pretty much have this in the bag!
