World Level Adjustment allows players to decrease or increase their world level strength in Genshin Impact. Is your World Level too high? Read on to find out how to lower your world level, and the benefits of doing so.

What is World Level?

Genshin Impact - World Difficulty

When you reach a certain Adventure Rank, your World Level increases as well. With higher World Levels, the enemies you encounter are stronger, but at the same time you get better rewards.

World Level Adjustment

Genshin Impact - Pros and Cons

With Update Version 4.8, players can now decrease their World Level by 1 after reaching World Level 3. This is useful for those who are having a hard time with their current World Level and might need some more time in the lower World Level to build up their party.

How to Change Your World Level

Genshin Impact - How to Decrease World Level

To change your World Level, simply open up the Paimon Menu and click on the “i” Info symbol next to your World Level and select Lower World Level.

Restoring World Level

Genshin Impact - Revert World Level

If you want to go back to your original World Level, go to the same menu and icon and click to revert it. When you click it, you can also see your remaining cooldown timer if you want to check.

World Level Adjustment Cooldown

After changing your World Level, you will need to wait 24 hours before you can change it back. The cooldown will start no matter what change you make, whether it's to decrease or revert your World Level.

How do i do it all the way to world lvl 1 because i can only go down one lvl

Wow.. to think I actually stopped playing this around 1.2 precisely because the world level thing got to be so much of a hassle for trying to bring in new heroes. You'd get someone nice in gacha only to bench them forever until you farmed up their materials and doing that meant you weren't focused on getting new or better gear for your main heroes. It just felt stagnant. If I had known this change happened I would have already been back. RIP my last 6 months.
