Who is the Magic Guide Good For?

Good for Elemental Reaction Characters

The Magic guide is a decent weapon for increasing a character's Elemental Mastery in order to deal more Overloaded, Superconduct, Electro-Charged, Shattered, Swirl, Bloom, Hyperbloom, or Burgeon damage.

These reactions only scale based on a Character's Elemental Mastery and their level, stats like a weapon's base ATK would not affect it.

This weapon provides the second highest Elemental Mastery stat out of all the Catalysts in the game, just behind the Sacrificial Fragments.

Is the Magic Guide Worth it?

The Magic Guide is a decent weapon to level up if you only need a weapon that increases your Elemental Mastery. For most DPS characters, however, a weapon's base ATK and passive play an important role in also increasing their damage. That is why similar weapons like the Mappa Mare are usually the better F2P alternative since it has good stats and a great passive just at the small cost of lower Elemental Mastery.
