Trial Venti and Durin have activated Hexerei effects, meaning you'll be able to use Venti's Anemo Infusion and increased burst duration when you use his Normal Attacks. As such, with Venti as your on-field DPS, and Durin as your off-field Pyro applicator, you'll be able to rack up points using the buffs best for Swirl!

You can also use other Anemo on-field characters like Wanderer or Chasca as they are favored here with a Pyro character. We recommend just using the Trial Durin for all alternative teams for your Battle Soul buffs to stay active.

Recommended Battle Soul Buffs

Base Aura
Flameless: Gain a buff when off-field characters deal Pyro DMG.
When off-field characters deal Pyro DMG to enemies, the party gains 250% points for 4s. While this effect is active, when the active character triggers Pyro Swirl reactions on an enemy, a shockwave that deals AoE Anemo DMG will be unleashed at the enemy's position. This effect can be triggered once every 2s.

When a character triggers Swirl reactions, the base points scored by defeating each opponent will increase by 2 for the rest of the current trial. This effect can be triggered once every 4s.
Genshin - Blazing Valor - Sharp EdgeBlazing Valor: Sharp Edge Normal Attack
When the active character defeats an opponent with a Normal Attack, the bonus multiplier for points obtained by the party will increase by 3 for the rest of the current trial. This effect can be triggered once every 5s.

When the active character defeats an opponent within 4s of receiving healing, the bonus multiplier for points obtained by the party will increase by 2 for the rest of the current trial. This effect can be triggered once every 5s.

Stage 1 Base Aura activates when the following conditions are met:

  1. Off-field character deals Pyro DMG.
  2. On-field character activates Pyro Swirl.

As such, Swirl buffs are best to use for this fight, and Durin completely carries the off-field application by himself. The Blazing Valor depends on your Anemo character, if you're using Venti or Wanderer, use the Normal Attack perk, but if you're using Xiao and Chasca, you can use the Healing perk with a healer.

Trigger Off-Field Pyro and Shred Anemo RES with Durin Light Form

Genshin - Trial of Valor Stage 1 - Pyro Application

Start the fight with Durin's burst on his default Light form (Elemental Skill -> Elemental Skill) to shred Anemo RES with an Anemo character. His burst lasts for 20 seconds so you'll be able to keep your Base Aura active throughout the fight!

Use Anemo On-Field Attacks

Once Durin and your supports have been set-up, use your Anemo on-field character to Swirl Pyro and activate both Enduring Spirit and Blazing Valor buffs.

This fight is heavy on the AoE for the first waves, but there will also be flying Ruin Drakes which you can focus fire to.

The trial characters will always be at level 90 and have the same stats regardless of the stage difficulty.

Trial Durin and Venti also has their Hexerei buffs activated by default. However, if you're using your own Venti or Durin, you'll have to complete their respective Witch's Homework quests first.
