Who is Nibelung?
Dragon King of Teyvat
According to the Finale of the Deep Galleries set, Nibelung was born alongside the world, making him the creator of Teyvat.
He is referred to as Formidable Father by Neuvillette and Takoja Ianikuinen by the Frostmoon Scions.
Fought the Heavenly Principles
In the book Before Sun and Moon, it tells the tale of the arrival of the Heavenly Principles into Teyvat. Before gaining the 'eternal throne of the heaven', they battled against the Seven Sovereigns of Teyvat.
The result of this battle was a victory for the Heavenly Principles. In the An Omen of Annihilation and the Final Entreaty quest, Kukulkan revealed that this victory came at a great cost to obliterate Nibelung, exhausting their resources and power. This cost resulted to the death of the Third Descender and creation of the Gnoses.
Creator of the Three Moons
First mentioned in the story within Fractured Halo, Nibelung created the Three Moons before departing Teyvat in order to aid him in governing Teyvat while he is absent.
According to Nicole in Act VI of the Song of the Welkin Moon Quest, the Three Moons co-existed with the Heavenly Principles as they both aim to maintain the planet alive and operational. However, Nibelung saw this as disloyalty and imprisoned them before transforming the moons into weapons against the Heavenly Principles.
As a result, The Heavenly Principles shattered two of the moons in retaliation, not knowing Nibelung was behind it.
Progenitor of the Dragons
Before Sun and Moon desribed the dragons as the natural species of the Light Realm and they were the the dominant race before the Heavenly Principles took over.
They were led by Nibelung, alongside the Seven Sovereigns, and is widely known to have developed advanced technologies.
Met Seutervoinen
Finale of the Deep Galleries revealed that Nibelung encountered the Voyager, Seutervoinen, and was offered to join her beyond the stars because of the inevitable end of Teyvat.
Nibelung refused, proudly stating to return later to see the path that he has chosen, as he will lead his fellow dragons beyond the stars.
