A certain amount of characters from the Anecdote Chronicles can be located anywhere throughout Teyvat. The characters appear at random, but you can wish on the Narukami shrine for a character that you want to meet, boosting their chances of showing up.
All characters can be encountered multiple times. They can be found in different locations or at the same location, but they will give you a different dialogue.
Some Characters May Have Hidden Prerequisites
Similar to Gilded Chapter, some characters will only appear after interacting with specific items or NPCs. Also note that you will need to progress the Reunion Beneath the Moonlight subquest of the Song of the Welking Moon Archon Quest Act 1 to unlock Nod-Krai anecdotes.

Mika is seen near the Nuts 'N' Nuts Food Stall in Nasha Town. He can be seen in front of the pumpkins.
Xinyan Anecdote Location
Xinyan is seen standing in front of the jukebox in "The Flagship" in Nasha Town.

5.7 Gilded Chapter Locations
Note that if you haven't collected these anecdotes, it is entirely possible for them to appear again now that the event is permanent.
There were 16 characters in the Anecdote Chronicles that can be found either in Mondstadt, Liyue, or Inazuma. A total of 35 Anecdotes was obtainable during the Version 5.7 Gilded Chapter event. Additionally, there were 4 hidden Natlan characters that gave Anecdotes after interacting with specific people or items.

5.4 Anthology Chapter Locations
There were 19 characters in the Anecdote Chronicles that can be found either in Mondstadt, Liyue, or Inazuma. A total of 45 Anecdotes was obtainable during the Version 5.4 Anthology Chapter event.

 Xianyun can be seen twice near Liyue's Ministry of Civil Affairs, where you get Weekly Commissions. She is seen talking to Shenhe and another where she is talking to a couple of people. |
 Xianyun can be seen on top of Starsnatch Cliff on the east side of Mondstadt. She can be seen with a camera on top of the cliff. |
 Xianyun is located outside of Mondstadt, at the other end of the bridge where Timmie usually is. |
 Xianyun can be seen at Wolvendom, where she encounters Razor hunting a wild boar. |

 Yaoyao is located in Yujing Terrace at the northwest side, near where Madame Ping usually is. Yaoyao can be seen training her skills in front of her old master. |
 Yaoyao can be seen in Qingce Village with Qiqi, sitting near a cliff and overlooking the valley. |

 Shenhe is located inside the Wanmin Restaurant at the east side of Liyue. She can be seen standing in front of the main window of the restaurant. |

 Yun Jin is located in Liyue Harbor, where Tea Master Liu Su is performing. She can be seen at this location twice, one where she is listening to the performance, and another where she meets Kaeya and Klee. |

| Kokomi Anecdote Locations | |
 Kokomi is located in Watatsumi Island, inside her own secret base. Use the teleport waypoint south of Bourou Village, glide down to the road, and head west until you see a small cave. |
 Kokomi is located at the center of Watatsumi Island, at the shrine in the middle of the whole island. |

 Kazuha is located at the Sea of Clouds region of Liyue. He can be seen sitting on rock, near the round pool east of the teleport waypoint at the north of Liyue Harbor. |
 Kazuha can also be seen near the Statue of Seven in Sea of Clouds in Liyue. He can be seen standing on top of the mountain beside the Statue of Seven. |
 Kazuha is located near Dunyu Ruins, at the east waypoint, in Liyue. He can be seen standing near a cliff and he will parry with you after you talk to him. |

 Fischl is located inside the library of the Knights of Favonius Headquarters, at the second floor. She can be seen here three times and she will give you a different dialogue each time. |

How to Look at Previous Anecdotes
Complete Travelers' Tales: Destiny Drawn
Travelers must first make their way back to the Grand Narukami Shrine in Inazuma and complete the special quest Travelers' Tales: Destiny Drawn.
Completing this short quest will unlock the Destiny Drawn feature at the shrine, increasing the chances of encountering your chosen character's new or old Anecdote for the next 2 real-world days!

Anecdote Chronicles Event Information
Part of the Travelers' Tales Event
Anecdote Chronicles is part of the Traveler's Tales Event, where you can locate all the characters you need to visit during the event and read their individual anecdotes they left you.
In Version 5.4, the event's Anthology Chapter released, and the Gilded Chapter in Version 5.7. Starting Luna I, it is now a permanent event that will periodically receive updates.
